Marines, I would advise against relocating to the double node on veil. There is a vent that goes under the floor and any lerk can settle down there and just shoot spores so they pass through the floor. Its really evil and is almost uncounterable unless a JP gets in there.

Note: this isnt a whining thread, as i was actually the lerk doing it. Just dont relocate there ok?

    people shouldn't relocate there anyway -- I never do.

    some comms seem obsessed with double res nodes.. they're not <i>that</i> great. in veil, I find skylights-->rt + turret farm-->overlook res tower-->sub-sector is much more effective.

    if you pull that off (and i have many times), you get three res nodes, and a hive. and guess where the aliens are?.. yeah.. up in double res. now when you have res, you can electrify overlook, and.. yadda, yadda. it's really quite effective. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I've also seen that used against aliens on that map. Double res totally lamed up, jetpacker with shotgun sneaks in and builds sieges in the vent. He's quite hard to get out of that place too, as the vents are long and straight. If the comm drops him some medpacks spores won't help either.

    Anyway, the double res on that map is hard to defend, also as aliens. There are lots of options for attacking it.
