<div class="IPBDescription">marines become easy prey</div> The new NS2.0 version of Hera is a Lerk's paradise. Two changes make it this way, which cause horrendous problems for the poor old marines.
Firstly, the new vent which opens up just over the start of the glass corridor leading to reception. A couple of hive-1 lerks up there can cause terrible destruction. A lerk with scent of fear and regeneration can stay up there almost indefinitely, spore-spamming the marine base.
Secondly, the newly-opened landing pad area. There are a few crates on the landing pad, and it's possible for a lerk to hide behind them completely out of reach of the marines. You can spend ages there, flapping up, sporing and dropping down again, once more causing terrible damage and being almost impossible to winkle out.
Should the map ever be updated I think it would be reasonable to either make the vent easier to shoot into (or weld shut at one end or the other), and maybe move the crates on the landing pad either so they cannot be hidden behind or so that marines can get round the back of them.
( Of course, having said all that, the comm could create jetpacks which would let the marines secure these areas. )
What do you think? Slightly unfair aspects of a map, or just another hazard that marines will have to learn how to deal with?
