like i said i don't know how to make maps if i did i would have made it already. but you can like put 2 recourse nods in that big hallway since it is so big.
Use movies like Event Horizon/Aliens/etc. as inspiration, just don't copy them. I mean, it could be nice to play on those levels, but as a mapper I'd personally feel very empty knowing that it wasn't my work, that it was just a rip. Well, whatever. Your choice.

Actually, I'm working on a map called ns_horizon right now. But the architecture doesn't have anything to with the movie, except I think for a rotating hallway, which I think was in the movie (haven't seen it for a long time). The Layout and some Readyroom Screenshots should be somewhere in the Mapping Forum. All I was gonna base on the movie was a little bit of the background story, which I hopefully will be posting soon in the FanFic Forum once its done and I get it on the server. But I would defenitly say you should try to get into mapping and maybe even get some inspiration from Event Horizon, that movie was just so cool... By the way, does anyone know why they took the tutorials out of wc when 3.3 came out? My old version had the most usefull tutorials ever, got me started without problems...

theres quark, qeradiant... alot of editors, but i think you might need to compile it through WC (untested as of yet, at least by me), but i have yet to try other editors, since WC (now known as valve hammer editor) is very easy for me to map with, and i just got an idea on a hallway.... put 2 wait... maybe i can put it in text here? ok, here goes _ / \ / \ / \ ----------------- \ / \ / \_/ alright, didnt come out quite right, but you get the idea? (shown from a side-view, the --- line is the catwalk going through it, the rest is a longer, not-so-steep-spiked-rotating hallway) get it? im gonna make it and see if i can show u ppl what im saying [edit] blah, the forums screwed it up, but its a similar layout to what is shown, only add the top/bottom part so it extends ALL the way and make it not-so-crooked [/edit]
Yeah, raptor, thats what I meant talking about the rotating hallway, I got that, works pretty good so far... I put {invisble on the outside of the func_rotating, so the commander can actually see through the whole thing, while the players can't.

I'm getting influence. but the layout is primarily mine. You could do something similar with the ship from EH, just make the map of a part of the ship we didn't see in the movie.
