So They Finally Found An Answer To My Regen Onos..

I was in a low person game like 4-5 people, looked at my res and realized it was 100 so I went onos. I got redemption because I was feeling dirty, we had one hive. I'm rampaging around, I take out 4/5 of the marines including the stupid comm who jumped out to git me... and I'm killed because I was standing on an IP attacking it, when someone spawned in.

I almost died laughing at that, because I had been ripping apart their entire team for 3 minutes. That is what finally took me down. A SPAWN.

I just had to say something somewhere. But the word of advice is... don't stand on the IPs ;-)

edit: Oops, that title should naturally read 'redemp' onos not 'regen' onos.

i got killed on a spawn today too, but as a skulk. The best way to get a redeeming onos is to assault the hive. After an onos redeems there's a small bit of time where it can't redeem anymore.
Second to that is shotties and grenades.

Sorry, this is OT to aliens, but on topic with telefragging. Can marines telefrag each other using phase gates anymore?

Yes they can, but you cant readyroom telefrag at all

uhh....I've phased into a marine and didn't telefrag him,I jumped out of him and no he didn't have a connection problem

As for redmption Onos....bah I hate Onos,I don't like how they can't fit through doorways, and I hate how I have to constantly Umbra them during double res sieges....
But they are still a benefit to the entire team,so Im neutral all out on the Onos....

From my experiance, they made the phase gates a lot smarter. If you get stuck, you automaticly pop out of the other guy. I never get stuck on phase anymore, or have seen anyone get stuck.

IPs, on the other hand, are annoying, as I did get killed on one of those as an alien. However, I'm sure it's there to point out idlers (OMG! CamperBob just got telefragged 3 times in a row! Boot him!)

Watching where you step as a kharaa means not getting spawn-killed. The same for a marine means not stepping in onos poo. Both are very unpleasant and embarrassing.

I don't mind getting killed if I was stupid enough to step on a ip, but when I'm near an ip and still get killed, that is annoying.

Happened to me the other day.
I was redeem onos-ing for a good 10 mins, racking up the kills.
Then the IP popped me .

This should be obvious... never attack IPs or structures right next to them , you might get telefragged while manoeuvering. Remember the melee attacks have a nice range in fact... to destroy an IP safely , just crouch nearby and aim at the side. Both skulks , fades and onos can attack from approximately 32 world units (about one meter)

Yes, I've experienced my share of telefrag deaths while trying to chow down on IPs or even just standing too close to one.

Strage, but this didn't seem to happen in 1.04. Oh well, even though it is annoying, I can't say it's a bad thing. The only thing that would **** me off would be marines "mining" an area with IPs and then /killing as much as possible to saturate an area with deadly spawners... uhh, yeah. I don't think players are that desperate for fresh exploits yet.
