Help Really Need Bad With Ns

This is my operation system 2.8ghz,1024mb ddr sdram at 400mhz,128mb ddr ati radeon 9800 graphics card,windows XP Professional,soundblaster live with 5.1 support.
OK my problem is that when I install NS it install ok but when I exit the game to go back to my desktop the brightness goes dark on my desktop and all my games so I cant see Please help me with this problem someone.

sorta stumped but just double checking, are you ussing 2x moniters?
if so yuo gona have to disable one when you wana play (NS has reall problems with thaT)
