Just copy/paste into Opera.

I think the point was he didn't want to have to do that or have IE pop up.

I believe during installation Opera asks you if you want it to be the Default browser.

I had this problem as well, mIRC chooses IE instead of your default browser, older versions of mIRC allowed you to change it, but lo and behold, the newest version lacks that option (I have no idea why it does, maybe it was bugged), I found a way to fix it though, open regedit, go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\open\command and change the value to the location of your Opera executable (in my case this was Mozilla ) No more "do I take a gamble and use IE at the risk of it freezing or crashing, or play it safe and take the time to copy/paste it into my default browser?" situations for you!
