umm NS has been in beta for a while. when it is released i believe it will be an actual version, not a beta. release candidate means all the basic gameplay elements are there, and all that is needed is playtesting and polishing.
Mighty good-looking maps there. Some of the best I've seen for Half-Life.
On a similar note, I haven't really seen any screenshots of the aliens Pw'ning the Marines, I usually see screens of the other way around; Marines owning Aliens.

Lol, I started out with a sharpen to get it as clear as i could, then I went into console and took a screenshot of the alphabet...
Then i did gaussian blurs to it until It looked like the text, and did embosses on both of them to pull out the edges...
Took a few hours to figure out, but if it says what i think it says, it was REALLY worth it <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

omfg that alien in the 2nd pic is huge!!!! (level 5 right? just making sure) i didnt expect it to be THAT big... sheesh just imagine 16 of those rushing into your base... and only 15 defending marines and what turrets they may have, plus the commander, which couldnt help in that situation very much except tell the marines where to go to pick up health dropped by him or something nice pics, very secretive (i do NOT care how its spelled) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MUST PLAY THIS MOD!!! (i'll be instantly gibbed if the mod should be cancelled, and if anyone jokes about it and i believe it, my ghost shall haunt them for all eternity, id haunt flayra if the mod was cancelled... after i was gibbed of course) i can't wait for this mod... even if its 200 megs, shouldnt be too much for my cable to handle, especially not from filefront.com (the best site for files, fastest download speeds, period.) fileplanet has the biggest selection though, so im sure that will be the first mirror... aahhh this is nuts all this waiting. grrrr. lucky play testers they have all the fun while the rest of the community has to suffer they even blur the messeges on their pics.
When you're done waiting, whatever flayra said and all this playtesting will be history and mean nothing.

What Flayra said didnt have anything to do with the mod, features, bugs or anything really of interest what-so-ever. Tell you the truth, I'm not sure <i>why</i> its blured out.
My only assumption is because it really didnt have anything to do with the mod and they didnt want mindless text in the shots. Or, perhaps they just wanted to screw with you guys, which seems to be working rather well ...

Dunno but RC = Release Canidate.
So, there will be as many RC's as needed to be before the mod is playable and more or less balanced.
the NC is potentially the version the public will play ..
