Terrorist Attack In Jakarta

Around an hour ago a large car bomb exploded outside a downtown hotel in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia. Intial reports are that it was the work of suicide bombers, at this time at least 10 people confirmed killed, 80+ wounded.

Don't really have any more info, apart from most of the victims seem to be Singaporian.

    Nothing new, to be honest, this kind of thing has happened for decades upon decades.

    This kind of crap is why i don't watch or read the news. It's all too depressing.

    Yeah, it's just that western culture has sheided up from it for so long.     It's a sad day for sure. But I am curious why this story would get so much attention in the States while other stories get little attention.

    <a href='http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/europe/08/03/russia.blast/index.html' target='_blank'>Bomb attacks in Russia</a> for example is a story that seemed to skip by.

    Even more amazing is <a href='http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/08/02/apartment.arson.ap/index.html' target='_blank'>this story about ELF attacks</a> was hardly a back page story.

    Scary.

    They aren't bombing Indonesia, they're bombing western tourists.

    That most of the casualties were Indonesian personell working at the hotel is a tragic irony.
