G3 / Hk33 / G41
<div class="IPBDescription">just sit tight and listen.</div> <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->the G3 was designed by Mauser at the end of WW2. CETME of Spain continued the design, and then Holland manufactured the initial models, and finally the task of perfecting the gun was given to H&K. The G3 is chambered QUITE OBVIOUSLY for 7.62 x 51mm NATO AMMUNITION.
the HK33E is a G3 chambered, barreled, etc for 5.56 x 45mm Nato or M193 AMMUNITION. The conversion goes so far as an HK33KE and an HK33SG1 being designed, obvious couterparts to the 7.62 versions.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
said that in the HK33 post.
now G41:
the G41 is an HK33 with substantial improvements upon it:
-H&K's low-noise bolt closing device first used on the PSG1
-Dust cover on the ejection port
-Hold-open device keeps bolt open when last round in magazine is fired
-<b><i>NATO-Standard magazine well</i> (nubs)</b>to accept m16 magazines and the like
-NATO-standard sight mount for optics
-Adapted for fitting bipods
now look at the damn thing again and tell me it's a g3, an hk33, or whatever.. christ.

yes, yes...it's chambered differently..which cannot be checked on a model like tha one in that thread....
and yes, yes, substantial improvements, none of which really matter on a model like tha one here on this board...
tha fact of tha matter is, tha 3 guns are so similar, that unless you were to model in, and include EVERY detail, you'd not really be able to tell them apart at a glance....
g3 mags, hk33 mags, and m16 mags are drastically different in appearance!!!!
