Without knowing what video card you're using (which is the first step in reporting an application issue - describing your config), I found a few links after going to Blizzard's WC3 support site. All were on the main page, actually:
<a href="http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=awr0572p" target="_blank">Fixing Dark Screen with Radeon Cards</a>
<a href="http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mwr0555p" target="_blank">List of supported video cards and drivers</a>
<a href="http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mSearch000" target="_blank">Search WC3 tech DB</a>
edit: in it's grand supremacy, blizzard has linked to a site that does not exist, which apparently is meant to contain all drivers i need. harumph.

i really disagree with the nvidia comment. (This is comding from a guy who used to back 3Dfx 110% since the voodoo1, and hated nvidia till the geforce came out) They have a big competetior, ATI, who's new 9700 looks to kick the crap out of the gf4 ti4600. Its always been like this with 3d card companies, except it was 3Dfx was the big guy, and nvidia was the underdog. but a superior product, and a few very fatal mistakes from 3Dfx (nobody wants 32bit color! they want motion blur! lets skip product cycles), put nvidia on top.
So now its Nvidia as the top cat with ATI in close second. Not what I'd call a monopoly though. That's like saying Ford has a monopoly over Chevy, or vice versa, when clearly neither does. Also nvidia has the best dedication to driver support that I've ever seen from a hardware company.
And microsoft doesn't give me 200fps in quake3 ^_^
But back on topic: TychoCelchuuu you really really should consider a new video card, since yours is about 5 years old. Hell, you can get a Geforce 1 DDR for probably around $20 or $30 if you dig around and look.
If your budget is bigger, my friend got a Visiontek Geforce 3 Ti 500 (more fps tahn you'll need for anything coming out until doom, including ut2k3) at <a href="http://www.microtechcomputers.com" target="_blank">MicroTech Computers</a> for only $150. It works great, but they don't seem to have the exact same on in stock right now.
If your budget is even bigger, then wait for the GF4 prices to drop, I'm sure they will once that new ati card is out...
But of course getting a gf3 or 4 is kinda futile cause i have the feeling that your CPU speed and ram size aren't that up to speed either if you're running a voodoo3. But upgrading is just part of sticking with pc gaming. you either upgrade, or you stop playing...
good luck with it

Then again, this is Rob. Rob gets a new video card every other month, and a new processor and mother board every three months... Then again, Rob can run every game I've seen so far (including UT2k3) at maximum detail with zero chop.
Biomechanoid: when talking about comparing the same geforce's (i.e. the visontek gf3 ti500 vs pny's gf3 ti500) the thing to remember is the difference in frames is usually very minimal. like you wouldn't even notice in real-world application.
so it kinda boils down more to what you want. personally, i prefer the visiontek, as they are a high quality card that doesn't jack the price up by adding crap you don't need like bundled games i don't want, or their own custom drivers that will never be updated (visiontek just uses the detonator drivers!). Just my personal preference.
There are gf cards out there w/ digital video editing capabilities. if that's your gag, that's what you want. there's also gf cards w/ dual DVI for you rich boys with dual fancy monitors :P There are also GF's that come bundled with games if that's your gag.
Basically you gotta research and find what's right for you...
