<div class="IPBDescription">Well, why have you the nick you have?</div>Well, my nickname is mostly "Ramses". My real name is Rasmus and over time, I become Ramses to my friends. Its short, simple and easy to recognize.

I can't remember what I had before Nerve G@S, but this name evolved from when I was addicted to playing the Rock2 map on TFC back in the long Winter nights of 2000 (If no-one has played it, the objective is to release nerve gas). Over time I've slowly become more fond of simple Nerve, and I'm starting to respond to it in real life more than my real name(Fam can back me up on this one, he's the one who uses it).
Mine evolved from enjoyment of Star Wars and a discussion in Grade 9 Geography class about gobies in the Great Lakes and how they should be killed if caught because they're not part of the ecosystem.

Me and my 3 friends (4 of us), got bored and decided to start an Air Attack clan years ago. Death, Famine, Pestilence and War were chosen, and I was given Famine, being the skinny one.
I got bored of Famine (mostly because of the Feminine jokes, and the 'r u hungry?' comments), so I discarded the last three letters. Not very interesting I know. As with Nerve, I respond quicker to Fam than I do my actual name.

I started online as DNA (from both the molecule, my name - Dan - and my tendency to type faster than my fingers can keep up), but freshman year of college decided I wanted something a little more interesting. For a short while I tried out "Crush," but finally settled on "coil" (no capital!<!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->. It's from Toad The Wet Sprocket's last complete studio album, called "coil" - halfway through recording their next album, the band broke up and instead released a kind of retrospective album.
Especially in the local swing dancing scene, more people call me "coil" than "Dan".

I remember back in the days of playing Quake online I used to go by the name Flitter. I dunno why, but I liked it. Then I became known as "the gimp" by my friends due to my "visible speech impediment" (long story made short: Due to a cleft palate at birth, I can only pronounce an s sound through my nose... and when I do so, my nostrils move a little bit. Hence a visible speech impediment). From there I went on to 27BATDD_Gimper_meow (27BATDD being the abbreviation for our band, 27 Boy and the Default Drivers, and the meow being there because... well, we wanted to meow. <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> ). I then becames <<SAVS>>Gimper when we changed from clan 27BATDD to clan <<SAVS>> (Seeking attractive virgin sluts -- long and extremely amusing story, but don't ask). Shortly after that when I became dissatisfied with my effectiveness in CS I became TacticalMoron, and one ill-fated typo later, TacticalMormon.
My current name, though, started with my string of martial arts furry things, starting with JudoMeerkat. Others included TaeKwanDoKitty, Karate something or other, and of course the lovable KFS resulted. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

All those names KFS. And just think, I have only ever used 2 different names (apart from at small LANs, where wll tend to change our names to anything that seems humourous at the time).
Back when I was a wee lad (a Lance Corporal stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba), some men in my squad bet me $20 that I wouldn't eat a local rodent called a banana rat. They were called banana rats because they were so big (about a foot and a half) that they sort of bent like a banana when they ran. Anyway, we were guarding a camp of Castro's former prison scum that he had put on boats and sent towards Miami, only to be caught by the Coast Guard and given to us to guard. They were cooking these rats over an open flame, as they refused to eat our MRE's, and I ate a rat steak. Got my $20, and was called 'Mr. Evil' from then on by everyone in the company. I lengthened it to MonsieurEvil to give it a bit of flair as an online moniker.
And no, rat does not taste like chicken. More like over-cooked porkchop.
My major hobby besides computers and computer gaming is playing guitar. I tend towards alternative and heavy metal, and when I started playing Half-life with my friends at college, I was really into Ozzy Osbourne. So I decided to use some Ozzy-related names. I started as "Mr. Crowley", switched to "Luke's Wall" after a few months, then I changed to "RhoadsToNowhere", which is a combination of my favorite guitarist (Randy Rhoads, who played with Ozzy on his first two albums) and one of Ozzy's songs that I kinda liked. (Road To Nowhere) I just liked the sound of this, so it stuck, even though it is a bit long.
lol, MEvil's story has to be by far the bestso far <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
QUAD.... hmmmm this is taking me back quite a while. It was when DOOM 2 and QUAKE were the only games I had ever known about. When I discovered you could play multiplayer online (I was 8 or 9 at the time, gimme a break)I jumped for joy... one thing led to another, and soon I became king of the QUAD DAMAGE powerup and hence named myself QUAD DAMAGE..... when half-life swung around I just shortened it to QUAD cause it sounded better <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
I used to use 'Sbloyd', which is what i sign my illos and stuff (my first two initials and my last name), but when Killtoy, myself, and a friend formed a Q1TF clan, I (and the other guy) changed our names to be more in-line with the clan theme (Chaos, Warhammer 40k Style: The Children of Chaos clan) [Yes, we got lots of guff for our tag (COC)].
Andy became Warphammer, and I changed my name to Plaguebearer.
I've tried going back to my old handle from time to time, but then nobody knows WTF I am, and when they figure it out, they call me Plague anyway. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
You think coc is bad...how unfortunate that me and my friend chose the name "heavy ordnance"... <a href="http://pharm.team-code.net/ho" target="_blank">http://pharm.team-code.net/ho</a>
Yeah my name came from the Dark Tower series by Steven King. I used to get a lot of grief in early versions of cs so I briefly changed my name to LuckyHead$hots so people think I wasn't cheating. I changed back on request though.
I added the money sign and zero so my friends can look me up on gametiger...
My autoexec in cs automatically changes my name to g so that's what I play with most of the time and when I scrim I use the name gfunk.

I chose mine beacuse I am pretty much insane anyway. I do so much idiotic stuff <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
The only other big name is used online was The_Hoard on battle.net, anyone who's familiar with any game in the WarCraft series should be able to make the connection swiftly. The story behind my current name is short and lame, I had gotten HL installed, patched it up, and read the TFC manual, now i needed a name. Well as it happened my class was studing varibles at the time, the first thing that popped into my head was X, so i put a military rank in front of it and Cpl. X jumped into the fastest server he could find, spawned as an HW guy, and proptly had his head removed by a sniper. Anyway when i got cs, (about a week and half before 1.1 came out) I considered myself in need of a promotion, so Sgt. X i am. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
I used to go as MuskratMan (this was from a f*cked-up discussion about making a superhero movie with some friends from way back), and after that WilliamBirkin (Res Evil 2), and then stuck with GobyWan.
My nickname's lifted straight from one of the Culture books by Iain M. Banks - in case you haven't read any, all the larger Culture spacecraft have strange, offbeat and sometimes plain weird names.
I mean, you're hardly going to argue with a 200km long, hyper-intelligent spacecraft called the <i>Big Sexy Beast</i>, are you?
Plus, it was a blatant attempt to have the longest username possible. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
It all started back in the days of Half-Life multiplayer. I needed a cool name to go on their and frag my friends with. Genocide is how it started out, but as I played more and more I saw 100's of people with the same name.
So, I took my name, got inspiration from Aliens movie logo and came up with Gen()cide.
I got mine from not knowing WTF to name myself. So I just put "Unknown" and it just stuck. As with Fam, I respond to anyone saying "unknown" quicker then I do my real name.
Friend mentioned the words "more so" sounded funny. He was kinda messed up and decided it <i>should</i> be spelled "morso". I had the odd idea of creating a cartoon cat by that name, and chose to add Rodriguez as a last name because it sounded better when you said "Morso Rodriguez the Mexican Jumping Cat". Needless to say the comic book I then made for my art class sucked a lot.
Well first I went by the name of AlchemyGothic, back then based on the merchandise products, because they simply looked cool, but when HL came along I needed a new name. So, at first, I chose a different name for each mod, as I thought and still think that it adds to the atmosphere to have a name that sorta belongs into the setting and not just the same combination of clan tags, [{)- and stuff like that all the time. But at some point even I went mainstream an one day chose the name CallMeMessiah, thinking about a line in a Demons&Wizards Song (Gallows Pole): Call me Messiah, I am god, a true lord, but alone... Well, shortly afterwards it changed to Call:1800-MESSIAH, because it simply works
I bet alot of people are wondering where the #### I came up with a name as uniquely odd and different as Tzarcon. So, listen, I tell you...
A while back, when I was like 9, I first tried out Half-Life. I loved the game, but I never did any multiplayer stuff. One day I was searching a site that I went to often to download game demos, that would often occupy me till I got bored and I went and played more demos. I played alot of demos, I was only 9 anyway. One day I ran accross a "TFC Demo" which contained 3 levels. 2fort, Warpath, and Well. I liked it alot. I also knew it was a "mod" for half-life (At the time I figured it was like an add-on pack). From playing it I learned that it was available with half-life. So, when I got my birthday money, I went and bought half-life and starting playing TFC alomst all day. I even got into some TFC clans (Yes, I was only 10). The name I first chose when I started playing that TFC Demo was "Big Daddy". It was the name I went by in almost everything. I really loved the whole multiplayer thing. I tried out some games like Unreal Tournament (Which I play all the time) and Quake 3. Eventually I learned about alot of stuff, like Planet Half-Life. I learned about more mods, I learned about Counter-Strike at about Beta 7. But, then this movie called "Big Daddy" came out, which obviously stole my name (Its true, I had that name <b>before</b> the movie came out! ). I started getting teased by people I knew, like my clanmates, and some of my friends from my randomnine forums (Yeah, I was a follower of randomnines work as well, I loved Canned Tuna). So, I decided it would be best if I changed my name to "Non-Affiliated". Which I used for a while, but it obviously sucked. So, one day I was walking back and forth in my living room trying to think of a good name. I had played an RTS just recently called "Tzar - The Burden of the Crown". I knew Tzar ment "king" in russian (At least I thought, I know now its actually "czar"). So I was just thinking stuff up, as I walked back and forth talking to myself. Eventually, I said "Tzar... Tzar... Tzarcon... Hey, that sounds cool!" It was short, unique, and cool. So, from there on I used the name Tzarcon everywhere.
