Bots

I apologize if this has already been posted, but I couldn't find anything about it.

I loved NS 1.04, but I always played as a marine soldier as opposed to commander. I figure, as long as strategies and commanding skills are changing, I might as well jump on - after all, this seems like the best time to learn to be a commander.

The only problem is that when I join a game, I never seem to be able to test out strategies or learn commanding skills, as the soldiers try and take control, and I get yelled at for not being an excellent commander, when honestly, I have never had the chance to learn.

I have heard numerous things about Bots for NS, and I was wondering - what exactly are they? Could they help me learn to be a commander? (Like, I comm a marine team of bots.) And how skilled are these bots? Of course they will never match up with human players - but do the gorge bots build stuff? I know its asking a lot, but do the aliens do coordinated attacks? Do the marines stick together? Or do they all just stand around, acting as walking targets?

Even if bots would just follow waypoints and build structures, I would love to experiment commanding with them. If someone wouldn't mind posting where I can get these bots, and how I can use them, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

I often see people command without basic knowledge that they can learn outside of the game. Try reading some threads at the strategy forums or something.

As for bots, I'm not sure if they support NS 2.0 but I doubt it'll be long before we hear of them again.
