Ns 2.0 Strat Site

<div class="IPBDescription">I think NS 2.0 can support 1 now...</div> I had this idea during the 1.04 days and ran it by a couple people and they liked it but when we looked into it a bit deeper the strategy just wasn't there during 1.04 to warrant a Strategy Site like what WC3 (War Craft 3) has. Now after playing NS 2.0 for many hours I can honestly say that not only would NS 2.0 be able to support a strat sight with many diverse strats but it could VASTLY benefit from one. With all the command changes it would be difficult enough for a seasoned commander to com a good game but with basically an entirely new game to com for it is damn near impossible. There are VERY VERY few instances where marines win on pubs and while I think it is a SLIGHT balance issue (HMGs need to be better onos counters, right now shotties are better) I think it is more so that marines don't know what works and the comms are lost in their new options and possible strats.

What I'm proposing is a site much like the WC3 Strat site where Any one can come and submit a Strategy, it can be map specific or not, these strats could also be accompanied by demos since NS 2.0 records demos so beautifully now it would be perfect, or they could submit an article that could be on any ns related issue whether it be balancing or an interesting way of using a piece of equipment or pointing something out on a certain map. What ever little insights that could help out a commander or even people being lead by a commander.

I am very well versed in PHP so I could head up the project but I simply do not have time to take this whole thing on, on my own. So if you have any web dev skills (I know HTML well but suck at designing good looking pages) and you think this is a good idea, contact me! Also if you would be interested in providing content for it again, contact me.

If I got enough content providers and no web devs I could whip up a real ugly looking place for u all 2 submit ur articles and starts and view them.

You'll have to prove to any volunteers your dedication first. THere's a lot of good ideas, and a lot of "can I have help with this" threads around. I'd love to be a strat writer though. Come back when you've got some content to show us.

I agree that someone needs to get cranking on a strategy site. I remember Command & Conquer: Generals, a retail RTS with a lot of strategy, never got a decent strategy site because no one really tried. =( It's not like the old C&Cs btw (i.e. there is strategy involved)
