crashes after console loads up game
I run windows 98 using nvidia riva TNT and i have updated every driver aswell as using the latest hl vr.

I have play ns in the past and when i connect to a server and the console displays the loading process blah blah NS ctd right when the game should start playing(in other mods after loading the console move away to the top of the screen) but before it goes the desktop a blue screen of death saying A Fatal excetion 0E has occured at 0028:D443355A in VXD Asp4Wave(01) + 0001455A

press any button to close blah blah etc.

i remeber having this problem with ESF but i couldnt go to the console at all and strangely to fix that problem i had to empty my playlist for its mp3 player, i couldnt add any othe file like bots or skins however on esf. mods like cs and dod run fine and would never have to see this error.

some one plz help

Please post all system info as specified in the tech forum FAQ. Then we can help you (it's likely to be an audio devide driver issue).

Okedoke - have you tried updating that video board to the latest version?

You EAX settings *should* already be disabled by default for NS. Looking at your card though, it seems to be A3D compatible. So, start a game, open the console, and type

    s_eax 0
    s_a3d 1

Then shutdown HL and restart it. join a game and see how things go. Write us back if it works or not too, so we can use this as a fix for other.

Hmmm... well, one thing you can try is to (make sure you have downloaded the latest audio drivers), then uninstall the hardware via the device manager. Restart Windows, let Windows find the device, then provide your new drivers. Once it all comes back up, reboot, and attempt to play NS.
