Day of defeat 2.0.... 24 hours?!

InfamousInfamous Join Date: 2002-01-28 Member: 127Members

Anyone else read that shizzle?
www.dayofdefeatmod.com posted a little blurb of history about D-Day, and how on the night of June 5th, it was the most anticipated night in history. Why? Because the war would begin within 24 hours. Im convinced, as is almost all the forums that 2.0 is coming out tommorow. I think if it dosent, ill probably drive to thunder weenies house, break his legs and tell him to release it. Well, probably not since i cant drive... but ill be SO ###### if it dosent come out tommorow. They cannot keep hyping it that its coming out really soon, if it isnt.

On June 5, 1944, one day before D-Day, most of the million-odd German troops stationed in France and the Netherlands were dispersed along the Atlantic Wall, a 2,400-mile coastal barrier of powerful fortresses, lesser fortifications, innumerable machine gun nests and long stretches of formidable terrain. Most of the 3.5 million Allied troops in Britain were concentrated in southern England, in marshaling areas around the major embarkation ports. Across the English Channel, in the strongest sector of the Atlantic Wall, some 20 German divisions manned the French coast between two fortresses - the ports of Cherbourg, on the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy, and Calais, well to the northeast. The very next day, these two great forces would begin the battle that would decide the fate of the war.

For it was now only 24 hours away.......

    SOUNDS SO COOL!!!

DoD 2.0 is much better than the version out now, but think about this for a minute. Its only been in the Steam Beta testing group since Thursday. Last Thursday, January 31st. That's less than a week. I don't know if that'd be such a smart move on their part. Also, the date is June 5th. 24 hours after June 5th is June 6th. I doubt you'll be waiting that long, but I also doubt it'll come out tomorrow. Anyways, it doesn't really matter to me, because I can play it now.

Ya.... but can you imagine the kind of flames the DoD team will get if they dont release it tommorow? they are practically telling everyone that 2morrow is the release. Those fools.

Mwahaha... if all goes as planned, I'll be killing allies by dawn.

I had the pleasure of playing DOD 2.0 via Steam and I was completely blown away. Completely. Have I said this already?

DOD 2.0 is amazing. I highly recommend that everyone go download it as soon as it's out. It's an experience like no other you've had, including earlier versions of DOD.

Listen, when Flayra says a game is amazing, he's generally right. DoD 2.0 rocks your mama like no other game that's supposedly going to be released in the next five hours. Heh. Steam rules.

I just don't with that WW2 crap, all WW2 games i know, well just suck (best is RTCW but thats not that great and the MP has those awful classes), i mean the guns are well lets just say they don't leave an impression what so ever on me, usually just long rifles that make stupid sounds and have a real low ROF, i like fps that play in the future or present. WW2 based fps tend to have a real slow gameflow, like in moh:aa, argh i prefer UT and DMC, or even quake3.
But like they say in belgium: everybody his own pipe and tobacco.

hmm i just hope Flayra and the others don't play dod 2.0 too much and continue coding and whatever they do.

I have to say - if you aren'y busy downloading DoD 2.0 right now, the reason better be that you're already playing it. It completely owns. Forget MOHAA or RTCW multi-players. This ##### slaps them back to their wet nurses. Holy smokes.

Totally agreed Monse, totally. Somehow, they managed to balance out the BAR which kills in 1 shot, and the MP44 which kills in 2 or 3. I thnk its recoil. All though i do get angry when a BAR kills me by sniping =/
