I need one experienced server op to help test the linux server for Natural Selection. This server op needs the following requirements:
- A dedicated machine, 800 mhz or faster (the code is unoptimized still)
- 256 meg RAM or more (just to facilitate testing)
- A connection faster then a cable modem, capable of handling up to 20 players
- <b>An active, dedicated server that's currently running some HL mod with 15+ players on most of the time. You must post the link to your server when replying. Only active server admins will be considered.</b>
- Expertise in configuring HL and mods under Linux (I'm surely not)
- Time to help test NS in over the next couple weeks
If you fit these requirements and are interested, please post the address of your server here. I'll then pick someone (maybe more then one) to help test, just as soon as the Linux version is ready.
Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: Found him and you should have received an email from me by now. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
Server info can be found at www.clanradox.com
IP is 193.120.211.34
We have more than one system and they are currently undergoing an overhaul, so that may not be the test server that Joev intends to use. I'll shut up now and wait patiently for him to post here.
My webpage is <a href="http://www.vadakill.com" target="_blank">www.vadakill.com</a>, the IP is 208.28.184.222 and like I said, it runs CS 1.5 currently. My E-mail is <a href="mailto:vadakill@99main.com">vadakill@99main.com</a>

Hi, I'm Grendel's 'Server OP' <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
We're willing, nay eager, nay "would kill to" help out!
We've been running HL based servers since CS b5.2 so that's about 3 years give or take.
In that time we've developed a strong community around our 16player CS and DoD servers.
We currently run 1 CS (16 Player), 1 DoD (16player), 2 NWN servers (6 players each).
Our current hardware is an Athlon 1.2Ghz, 1.2Gb RAM running on a 100Mbps Backbone in our co-location site, which is in turn connected via multiple inter-nap connections ranging in 'width' from 2Gbps to 10Gbps.. I think their total capacity at the moment is something like 40Gbps.
The 'hardware' mentioned above would *not* be used for NS, instead I think we'd have to put it on our upcoming AMD Athlon 1900+, 1Gb RAM machine. The hardware is there, just waiting to be installed.
Our experience over the last 3 years or so of running game servers and building a community of players has led some of us (the methuslah's mostly) to begin formation of a new type of gaming community ( called jarHedz ) which we want to aim squarely at servicing the PLAYERs needs, not advertisers or sponsors. This is a non-profit organisation that eventually will have 'premium' server services (i.e. paid) that will be used to create more new services for online players. We have all the equipment for startup (8 Servers ranging from P3-800's to AMD/P4 2GHz machines - paid for out of our own pockets) and are awaiting a co-location deal.
In other news, we also have a few mean a$$ Linux programmers (myself included) who can help to iron out the kinks in the code if you want.
<b>(EDIT: By kinks I mean porting kinks which inevitably happen moving from Windows to linux servers and vice versa, *NOT* NS kinks, cos it's patently obvious that you guys are the BOMB! - Just thought I'd clear that up)</b>
As my friend Grendy mentioned, we like the look of this mod and it appeals to me also as something I've looked for in an online game for many years.
Regards
Joe Vaughan.

P.S. If you look at our website, don't be surprised how crap it is... it's only a placeholder.. until we get our co-location deal for the servers, we're not gonna put a proper community site up. - Our Clan site that this has all grown out of is <a href="http://www.clanradox.com" target="_blank">http://www.clanradox.com</a>
