Nothing About Aliens

For some strange reason I cannot load the level ns_nothing and play as aliens in a lan game. In internet games of ns_nothing I can join the alien team just fine, and I can play forever without a crash to desktop. I load perfectly well as marines, but every time I try to use aliens I crash to desktop. I have re-installed NS, re-downloaded NS and re-installed NS (3 times from different sites and deleting my entire directory after each re-download), killed almost every single ap running in the background, and I have no clue what is causing this. If I load nothing and go marines, then use the "switch" cheat it works just fine. But I cannot start the game as aliens. Neither can a friend of mine. He has the exact same problem on a very different system. Any ideas anyone?

    Wow I soo didn't read the tech support faq. Let me append my post by giving you some important info about my system.

    - Pentium 4 2.0ghz processor
    - Audigy 2 Sound Card
    - GeForce FX 5900 Ultra 256mb
    - XP Pro
    - 1.5 GB of PC 800 RD ram

    This is on a standard Half-Life Retail install.
