Gorges: The Perfect Turret Farm Counter

Not many people have realized this yet, but I have taken down countless marine bases full of turrets and phase gates all by my lonesome gorge self. It's really incredibly easy.

It only works if you've got 2 hives, however. But here's how it works for the non-strategically inclined. Just go gorge, build yourself a sensory chamber close enough to their outpost, and possible a d chamber to heal yourself. Now find a nice wall or column to hide behind, unleash a round of bile bombs onto their phase, and go back into hiding. It only takes a few tries to take out their phase gate, and once that's down you can take down their TF and then res nodes pretty effortlessly. I've taken back a good number of marine bases like this already in the 2 days I've been playing.

Just remember to stay in the sensory chamber range so you don't show up on MT, and listen for footsteps so you can hide. Occasionally a marine will come back to see his base's health is low and shoot, knife, or weld around the area for a bit, but it's usually not a problem. Health spray can take care of most of them, however you'll probably need some help with the heavy armor guys.

This mainly works on far off marine outposts such as hives or res nodes they are holding, and until marines learn to put an observatory in every base they make, this will continue to be quite effective. Then again, bile bomb would take care of an observatory pretty quickly...

    It also helps to have a movement nearby sometimes if you go sensory->movement as you can teleport to a hive for healing.

    Hm, it might work, if they placed the the phase right, you wouldnt be able to kill it before the turrets kill you

    In which case, if you had regeneration and a d chamber nearby, you stand a good chance of surviving the turrets. You can always find something to hide behind.

    Worst case scenario, wipe out turrets along the way to the phase. You can never make a structure entirely safe from bilebomb, I don't think, short of the world's longest hallway. However, it's less effective, obviously, to leave the phasegate above unless you have an onos in support.

    Another thing to keep in mind is the power of having a MC with your SC (if those are the two chambers you have). The andrenaline regen power of a MC would free you up to take celerity or SILENCE! To experiment with this I started a solo LAN game and made groups of 1, 2 ,3 and 4 MC and then tried various alien skills and counted the number of, say, spike I could shoot with none, 1 ,2 ect chambers. It was dramatic! Some skills become unlimited with only 1 or 2 chambers and NO adrenaline! We could make these things gunner nests! Now if we could only bounce bile bombs around corners like frag grenades...
