my undying gratitude to a mod dev. team.
Firstly, THANKS for putting 2.0 out. You guys all did a great job of releasing it ON TIME and with plenty of mirrors, which is rather stunning, considering how popular of a mod NS has become. It's hard to find a mod out anymore that doesn't miss a release date, or has fileservers that are swamped for days on end (yeah, it's an exaggeration..they happen. X_x).
My only gripes about 2.0 are that I miss the old fade blink...that snazzy cloud of smoke and instant transportation to -almost- anywhere is going to be missed by me...along with the old fade arms..and maybe a bit of lerk tweaking..but besides that, 2.0 is solid. The public servers still need to get used to the fact that NS2.0 IS NOT NS1.04 and below. I don't know how many times I've heard some random person say, "OMG!! YOU BUILT A SENSORY FIRST! -person goes into shock-", along with all the other things that come with basically getting a whole new game.
(sidenote: I didn't say anything of what marines might need or might not need due to not having played marines...I do know that i haven't seen as many electrified tfs/res nodes as there could have been, though)
The whole point is that you need to give players a chance to get used to the changes in the game. You aren't going to be a God-like commander overnight with the new version. Just look back at the gradual changes that the 1.0X series of patches brought, and how much people had to adjust tactics just for that.
errr...wait a second...i'm rambling...goodnight. -_-

Glad someone isn't bitching about it .
It's true that aliens are a lot more powerful, perhaps even more powerful then marines in raw strength, but marines still have their greatest weapon -- a good comm and organization. The only grip I have about two point oh (I got into the habit of saying it like that ) is that phase gates still cast light... which still drops me to 5 fps when I comm... argh. Glad I can finally weld without losing fps though.
