Dedicated Server Crashes When Client Connects.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Just as the title describes, when running my 2.0 server, anytime a client connects to the server, it crashes. It had been and is currently runing 1.04 without any problems.

I'm probably just missing something stupid, so any help is appreciated. I'm running the standard vanilla install, no metamod, etc, etc. HLDS 4.1.1.1

I had the same problem and tracked it down to the motd

I thought it was like cs i.e. youc ould put as much as you wanted in it but iw as wrong

Emptying the motd.txt file fixed this for me.

I guess theres alimit on the amount you can have in it

Thanks I'll try that, although the MOTD was the same size as it was for 1.04. Either way I 86ed it and will test.

Same here - I put the server rules in the motd (about 12 lines) and the server crashed when someone joined next. Fortunately the error message made a spark in the nromally dark recesses of my mind and I figured it out. It is now at 3 lines and works fine. Bug report I think.
