Small ns_halcyon update

Well, from the looks of it, I won't be able to do much more actual mapping for at least a week to come, so here's a few shots of some new stuff for Halcyon:

1. Escape pod, to be used for "spectator mode" entrance in the RR.

2. Examples of the doors that will be used at the connections between each "sector" of the map.

3. Same door, open this time.

4. Inside one of the connecting corridors.

5. Crates! AUIGH!

    I definitely like the custom textures here.  I think the lighting is pretty good, but could probably use a little tweaking in the 4th and 5th pics to add some contrast.  And the architecture is really working.

    Ahh, the tastiness of Cyonpro maps.

    Escape pod looks really good. Almost retro looking, with a kind of Mercury/Gemini astronaut thing going on. Maybe add some blinky lights and controls?

    Corridors rock. Kind of danks and dark though - good opportunity for some broken, flickering, stroby lighting?

    The crate pic seems sort of odd to me - the crate texture is the same as the hallway's. Do they have an interior decorator there making sure all the feng shui is in order?

    Nice stuff, Cyon.  I admit that I liked your hyper-bright futuristic earlier shots better though.  These shots seem a bit more like generic dark hallways on a spacecraft.

    What's the cool cockpit for?  It looks like only one player could fit in there, so I have to think about players blocking it up on purpose or traffic jams there.

    The 'cool cockpit' is an escape pod that I probably won't be using (except maybe as the entrance for Spectators).

    Don't worry Flayra, you'll get to see alot of hyper-brightness in the labs <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->.

    wow!  i love the lighting.  very dark (perhaps just a tad too dark) but very scary feeling

    BTW, as I develop more prefabs for the map, and eventually get the time to undertake actual construction of the layout <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> I will constantly update the screenshots at this page....

    Seeing what you're doing with those evil textures really makes me think that it WAS only the lighting that hurt me the last time I used them...
