an origin brush is just a regular brush textured with the 'origin' texture found in the hl wad. It's invisible ingame and its only purpose is to provide a point for rotating objects to rotate around. Check verc or pretty much any other decent mapping site for more info.
every rotating object needs to include an origin brush wich is not more than ONE brush covered with the ORIGIN texture on all sides. the rotating object then rotates around the center of that origin brush it includes (rotation axis). cydonias light spots are func_door_rotating, not solid, x or y axis, additive, 255, one directional....
the red ones are env_beams with its info_targets atatched to another origin brush that is another func_door_rotating.
info_target is correct. The info_target should move if you want the laser to move. For say a rotating laser you would simply add an origin brush at the rotation axis and treat it like any other rotating object.
At least that's how I have figured it. Could be wrong. I have never tried this. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
