For u smart peeps
Thought id post this here as its not NS tech support anyway i have a 56k v90 at the mo which gives me a connection speed of 42k-44k bps its also software , my question is that if i was to get a v92 hardware modem would i notice a massive drop in my ping? i get about 190-220 normally on a good UK server.

In short is it worth me forking out 15-25 quid for a new modem as i know i will never get BB.

Also does your ISP have to support v92 as i heard they have to in order to use the phone hold and other bits.

Any recommendations on a nice modem would be good.

P.S i know about sites such as v92.com but im after your views on it. good/bad?

I had a 'v92' modem. My ping was always around 200. I'm just saying what I got with it, I'm not an expert so I don't know all the techie stuff about it *shrugs*.

I didn't notice that much speed difference when i swapped from a crappy software modem to a US Robotics External Message modem, the best 56k modem u can get. Although the quality was a lot better, i had no disconnections AT ALL, it was brill, i could keep it on 24/7 without a problem
