Installing/running Ns 1.0 On Dod Retail

This is the message I receive when trying to connect to an NS server via retail DoD, both with and without cheating-death.

    Hmm, DoD Retail wasn't out when NS 1.0 came out. I hope you read this <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=18&t=37846' target='_blank'>thread</a> when you installed NS on DoD retail.

    I bought dod retail and got the same message, a quick search on google turned up the answer that the servers you get this message on havn't updated their hlds, dod retail requires the latest version as it uses valve id's rather than wonid's.
