I've always agreed with this in a sick way. I remember a story about a guy walking into his office building three weeks after being fired with an AK and a duffel bag full of ammo, he injured 14 people and killed 2 before being arrested. Now even with a semi-auto AK you could easily kill a person with 1-2 bullets if you place center mass. Typically an AK clip holds 25 bullets, 35 if the clip is extended. Now this guy had a duffel bag FULL of ammo, and from the reports he reloaded more than 5 times. Even factoring in that he would probably be slightly panicked and people would be running (although if you should shoot someone in the upper back with an AK they would most likely die) 2 fatalities is on the lowish side. Needless to say if I knew I was either going to get the death penalty or spend the rest of my life in jail I'd go out of my way to take as many people down with me as possible, maybe that's just me.

In real life you don't spray guns around, you use controlled bursts which are very controlable.

While an AK47 is a pretty high powered round, it is accurate enough for close quarters.

I've fired many guns in my life, from shotguns to rifles to handguns, and of all of them i'd take a shotgun for home defense as they can throw the most lead downrange in the shortest amount of time.

The only real controlable full-auto guns are small calibur like a 9mm MP5 or somesuch..

have you even ever fired an AK?

I fired the most basic model (semi-auto, wooden butstock, no flash suppressor, or pistol grip) and I was able to get 10 inch groups at 300 yards with no scope.

When I fired my friends AK with a folding stock, pistol grip, flash suppressor and scope I was able to get 5 inch groups at 500 yards

That was with a 30 round magazine and it took no more than 3 minutes each time.

So dr.d has a great point, youd have to be a total dipwad or simply high on something to fire 150 rounds (30 round mag x 5 reloads) and only kill 2 people inside a fargen office building. In my opinion the people who do these shootings dont actually want to kill anyone, they are just messed up, and in a terrible life situation.

Don't fret it Grey, Otto obviously lives in a world where AK's shoot streams of bullets like a firehouse in a children's cartoon that send you flapping around in a hilarious manner. Yes I must have forgot in real life people have life and armor too so it would take a lot of aim and effort to bring one of those suckers down, and here I thought a bullet from an AK would kill in a matter of minutes if it hit anything vital and induce shock almost anywhere near center mass.

    Silly me.

I actually witnessed that, he is pretty damned good.....it was probably mostly the gun......plus he had a scope....h4xor.

Anything over 150 yards is pushing it for a .22 so I'm not surprised

(Grey now that I think about it I think it was 400 yards no?)

Well the olympic team doesnt fire a 7.62 by 39 round. I'm willing to give an inch or two but my entire group(scoped) was within the first 4 rings of a 300m target so I figured it was around 5 inches or so. I didnt place a disc over the group at the end or anything so I didnt have exact measurements.

and dr.d I think it was 300. the metal square thing was at 100 and I placed the first target at the next line (300) I think and then on the last one before the hill which is 500??? I find it funny because i disagree with the whole idea that playing a game with some violence in can induce random shootings. I played Sonic The Hedgehog a lot when i was younger, yet i do not go round rolling, jumping, spinning and generally harming robots and/or insects. The same as i do not go around killing counter terrorists/terrorists, Kharra or TSA Marines.

But i have to adree with teh Dr. I mean, random spray in a room full of people would kill more than two. He was teh nubcaek
