<div class="IPBDescription">In co-op with Snake_ub</div> We decided to take a bash at mapping a proper map for NS.

The Search & Rescue party turn up 3 weeks after contact with citadel station is lost, they arive to find most secondery systems offline and the primary systems in poor condition.

Screen shots of marine start in the shuttle bay can be found <a href='http://www.halflifeforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=665' target='_blank'>here.</a>

I'm trying to keep the map fairly dark,to add to the ierness. It actually works quite well ingame. But still what is it that reminds you of HL?

I think some of those textures reminds me of HL, specially the "Blast Door"-texture. :/

throwing a few spotlights in the central areas of a room, if anything, adds to the eeriness while enhancing playability. As is it looks like skulks can be ten feet in front of you and still hard to see. Play with the contrast of having deep shadows with pools of light. This makes it so that marines have to stay in a certain area to see anything directly around them, which gives a claustrophobic, creepy kind of feel.

I can't really comment much on the screen shots except for what I mentioned above. Right now I can't see any texturing or other stuff due to lack of light.

It looks diffrent ingame, slightly brighter, and visability is a little dark. I have been toying with adding 1 more set of lights that flicker on and off above the dropship. Due to my newbish skills, I cant create my own textures, so I used the NS ones and HL ones. I did aligne them all tho so that it flows together. I could probably use a little more variation in the textures tho.

Try to avoid using HL textures in NS maps. They tend to detract from the overall NS atmosphere.

Also, you need more than just red light in there, in my opinion. Try adding some white or bright orange light in there. From the looks of it, you should probably put an env_gamma in there as well.
