Yes, it is symetrical. No, I am not changing that.
And yes, those ARE broken doors <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Edit: No, it wasn't a joke on your currently being messed with pics, I saw the actual pics *gasp*!
Anyway, here's a shot of the corridoor outside the hive:
The textures are uber blurry in this shot, that has since been fixed.
look sexy. keep the lighting,and maybe add a few different
colours with the detail that your gonna add.
keep it up!!!!!
The hallway for the second pic is very sexy...although I think the monitors need to be toned down a bit. Maybe not so much in the light they put out, but just in their brightness. Unless that door does actually move you might want to cover it in infestation to explain it's non-operational state. I'm a big fan of alien gunk being piled up on the sides of walls, and I think it would help to break up the floor here.
I've always liked this hive shot. (speaking about the first pic now) I think you could up the coolness of it by breaking part of the grated floor directly in front of the hive and dropping it down just a little. (4-6 unit height difference). That and some more infesting would make it look like the bacteria literally expanded faster than the area it was in could handle. Also I think a steam particle would make the pipe look better.
Overall I like the shots you have here. They're a really good step towards some very nice finished mapping. All it needs is details and tweaks to force out the drool.
