Maybe he wants to follow the same path to get into mod development as them.

No offense, but you and your forum nades are getting very, fing annoying. I think you'd be helping me and most of the forum out by thinking before you speak .

Yes, they're mostly very experienced developers, especially the mappers. I sincerely doubt any "newbie" could create something so fascinating as Natural Selection . I suppose some of them might have taken classes of one sort or another, but most of them learned by themselves through experimentation or online/book tutorials.

Concepts of Natural Selection doesn't require any critical thinking classes to devise, just a big imagination.

Well heres Flayra's website. He's the guy that made Natural Selection.

The age varies a lot, some of the youngest PTs/VETs are as young as 12 I believe,(mebe a year or two off on that). You can read about flay's experiance at http://www.overmind.org and mappers get their experiance from well.... mapping for stuff... erm, think I answered all your questions there.

Personally, I don't count PTs (playtesters) as part of the dev team -- they're an important part of the community of course, being the ones to help balance out a new version, but they're not the creative geniuses behind the game.

Flayra was in the game devlopment industry before this. Games are rarely designed and created by the same person these days and it's something Flayra wanted to do. He was also involved in Empire earth, MindRover, and an aquatic based game I cannot remember the name of. I don't know of any others.

Cory "Squeal Like a Pig" Strader, NS artist extraordinaire, still works at Stainless Steel Studios. He also worked on Empire Earth and is working on Empires: Dawn of the Modern World (I think that's the right title). A few other devs I know of come from the SSS camp, if I recall.

Three contributing official mappers either have held, are holding, or have just accepted full-time LD positions. This does not include new 1.1 contributors, though I'm not aware of any prior professional experience on the people who made the new maps (exception being myself, but I fall into the 1.0 original map category anyway. ). All three, however, were well after NS was in development (two since its release).

maybe they should have jewel-cased 2.0 discs signed by the dev team in the store... that would be cool
