Some would say that this will be obsolete with the release of 2.0 and it may but here are some general Gorge Tips.
Tip #1 - The most important tip of all. OVERFLOW. Your teammates may want a second hive RIGHT NOW! But don't give in, stay at full res 100/100 for a few minutes THEN go build the hive. You should have enough to cap a res in the hive area and put down lots of d chambers as well as a few o's. After you put the movement down at the second hive, wait oh hmm. five seconds til you have enough for the third hive. This tactic overwhelms the Marines, you had ONE hive now you have three BAM!
Tip #2 - Build one Res Node up and then go back to the hive and put down THREE D Chmabers, it will take a while to save the res but your teammates will thank you, make sure you put down three so their Cara is maxed out.
Tip #3 Ask for assistance, if you need an escort ASK if you need a skulk to walk you up to a safe spot, ASK, your teammates know that by helping you they are helping themselves. And unless the player is a total **** he will help you.
Tip #4 Don't get killed. No Battle Gorging! Run from the noise of a door opening unless you see a white ring with a fellow aliens name, I mean be jumpy! Be alert and don't die more than 1 time if you can help it. It's one thing if the rines have JP and HMGs and are rushing you, but to get killed by a new Lvl 0 LMG guy is not smart and the team won't like you Gorging with them.
Tip #5 O Chambers are the icing on the cake, don't bunch them up too close together trying to block a hallway unless A) The Marines don't have and won't have for a while JPs, or the O Chambers come to the ceiling. Place O Chambers around corners that the Mariens have to get close to kill. Place another one strategically where they could shoot at it from afar. Be methodical in your OC placement.
Tip #6 Have Fun! Gorge is a great Alien, sure he's a little fat but hey, get him on that treadmill at Viaduct and you should be okay!
Thanks for reading, comments welcome.

About tip #2, that depends on how the game is going. If aliens are getting hardly any kills then this is necessary. However, if aliens are getting almost the same kills as marines this is stupid. If your team is doing well enough, you might put up the second hive before building any upgrade chambers. In a good game, you could go 3 rt's, hive, dc/mc/oc's in each hive, get fades gg.
For example
The vent-room at Waste Handling.
The Red Room near Great Viaduct.
The vent above Tram Tunnel outside Feedwater.
If a marine can sneak into those places it only takes a couple of minutes to build a phase gate, turret factory and start sieging. Tell your skulks to patrol those areas until you have enough res to make them safe.
also, biggest tip, dont gorge unless you understand the game and the maps. Your team will hate you if you screw up early. If your really must gorge ask your team first, nothing worse than a 2nd gorge eating half the res as the first gorge is saving for a hive :/
Though I usually follow 2 res then d as a general build order, d chambers should be determined on how your team is doing, while early d's can be valuable res is always the most important aspect of the game. Without res you cant do anything. Over flow is good but the instant you get 80 start up that 2nd hive, save for over flow after that while its building, unless it requires defense. Waiting a couple extra minutes could mean that hive falls before your lerks get umbra.battle gorgin depends on the skill of the marines and the gorge. IF I have 3d up and near them I'll gladly take on 2 marines at once, unless you are playing a very skilled marine team then maybe 1. but really the only time I do it is when defending something important like a building hive or d chambers under a hive I'm about to build.
But like I said none of this will matter very shortly
Then I get the 2nd hive up..
then d chambers
then movements
then I go and grab the 3rd hive (if its clear)
then sense..
No offence chambers until all 3 hives are up (or 2 if they took one)
I rely on my team for defence, its not that hard to get them to defend the hive.. RT's are a little harder to get them to defend.
Battle is the best.. you just gotta hop around like an idiot and healthspray.. you can usually take out that lone marine that came to attack you.. then you run because backup will be coming.. while attacking shout at your team over voicecomm to come help you wherever you are.. usually they will come if you yell loud enough
Another good tip is to stay in the hive room until you have around 20 res (as a gorge) then go to the first RT, the less time you spend outside your base, the better.
Pay attention as gorge, you can usually hear the marines coming toward you, and that should give you enough time to run..
Also.. learn the sounds that the different doors, switches, and lifts make.. learning to recognize the sounds is usually a good warning of marines that are coming
= best alien
Spit is only good for medium-longer range, but heal spray is best for close range as you need little aim, as for spit, your spit has to be spot to hurt the target
I believe you can heal 3 aliens at once, same for hurting marines I guess
You may like to humiliate them, id rather the gorge stay alive, because when the marine initiates combat with the gorge and has full hp 9 times out of 10 the gorge dies, because he wanted to healspray :/yes heal spray makes that cool sound and has the nice sprite but close range especially where u cant miss with spit, it atleast gives you a 50/50 chance
One time I played Gorge well after becoming a Vet, now being a Vet means you have experience doesn't mean you are good. Anyway, it was uhm.. The map with Cargo and Power Silo, I'm not good with the names ^.-; I dropped two resource towers and asked if Cargo was clear. Three teammates said yes, so I took the vent from Via to Cargo and started to cap that node too. Immediately my teammate says on voicecomm "What are you doing *explicit deleted*!?"
"You said Cargo was clear.."
"Our gorge is a *explicit deleted* idiot! Put up the dcs!"
"Okay..." I dropped three dcs where I stood.
"OMG!"
"What now!?" I heard marine footsteps. But felt safe for the dcs and my skulk companions. Regardless the skulks the marine One Marine killed them and me after.
"Don't *explicit deleted* gorge you idiot!" Anyway after that he went on for the rest of the game, for me it was only ten minutes because I wouldn't put up with it. He insulted me over and over, this guy was a real *explicit deleted*
Just thought I'd add that for the hell of it, to show that even though most people on the forums are nice not all players use the forum. Because they get their social jollies by harassing people who can't knock them the *explicit deleted* out, on account of distance issues.
As for Gorging tips....always build your first 3 or 4 DCs under your hive, helps heal it up during short raids until an HMG or GL comes in :/
And always place OCs around corners where you should turn.Just make sure those spikes don't revealwhere they are
Don't use spit unless you know wheree to hit the marine. My guess is that its got a hitbox locating problem with it.
When another alien pal of your comes near and chomps/slashes/gores/spits at you, they most likely want to have some healing,or rarely, are the idiots that think YOU are the badguy :/
Don't battle gorge,I dont care if you got more health and AP than a Skulk or Lerk, you are slow and burble out noises a lot.Learn to run and hide!
