Ok, I don't want any "OMG, I LOVE THIS BAND", I am just looking for the best songs you guys like to play games to, preferably something NS like (as in, not playing pokemon, it invovles attacking and such ). And there is a reason behind this, not just some spammy post breaking our own forum rules as some as you may interpret. The songs can be instrumental or include voices, just whatever gets the blood pumping while ingame! oh, and no "no music for me" posts, that doesn't help one bit, thanks.

Ill start off with:

We Will Rock you - Queen (duh!)
Theme Hockey Night in Canada ^^

Whenever (rarely) I listen to MP3's or CD's underneath my games, it's Hip Hop.

Notice Hip Hop, not "GANGSTA RAP UP IN YOU PIECE".

I would say my favorite song though is N.E.R.D - Rockstar. I like it because it really gets me going and it flows right.

Chateau, from The Matrix Reloaded soundtrack is pure ownage, pretty much the best thing you can listen to ingame.

Astral Projection- Electronic. Pure unadulterated kickarse. Not to mention it's a solid 9 minutes long and lends itself well to NS because it's hard trance and gives you that nervous need to act feeling.

And I swear sometimes the song just reacts to what happens in game like 3 skulks come around a coner and a crazy break starts up in the song.

    Hans Zimmer

Ashes to Ashes

Bakara

Synchrotone

Tribal War

Hunger

I don't know about NS-like. I seem overly irritated sometimes if I can't hear footsteps. However, in any FPS game, these are great songs, mainly because they're kind of ethnic, but they have a slow progression to a really fast beat. Which is, really cool, and really sets you up for battles.

Bakara is really cool, it's like an ethnic eastern funk instrumental rap. So crazy... I highly suggest to check it out.

    Oh, and Rammstein - Engel.

Oddly, I found that faintly aggressive techno is perfect for DoD. As for NS - it's mostly just moody atmospheric stuff (my Aliens soundtack gets a lot of use, for example).

for NS the ambience is nice enough for atmosphere, but most of the time I just listen to random music.

Well it's all dependant on what game I'm playing....

I really only ever have music happening during racing games.

My personal song collection would have to be something along the lines of

Antiloop - In My Mind

Antiloop - Purpose in Life

Antiloop - Start Rockin'

Aquabats - Super Rad

Cypress Hill & Roni Size - Child of the Wild West

Overseer - Supermoves

Par-T-One - Just Keep Walkin'

Panjabi MC - Mundian To Bach Ke

Phobia - Finding the Pattern

Røyksopp - Eple

Sir Mix-a-lot - I like big butts

The Cardigans - My Favourite Game (GT2 Mix)

Then jam winamp on random and let the groove take over ^_^

  • MastodonMastodon Old Fogie Join Date: 2003-01-09 Member: 12052Members, Constellation
Anything that gets me going, really...

Living Sacrifice

Origin

Cryptopsy

Carry On

American Nightmare

Floorpunch

Bury Your Dead

Nile

Terror

Figure Four

Comeback Kid

and, of course, Mastodon

Although moody, atmopsheric music is good...until you get to killin'.

    My brethren!

    ...

While NSing I don't usually listen to anything, but when I do it's usually the Doom\Doom 2 soundrack, sometimes the Quake 2 soundtrack, sometimes the aforementioned c&c soundtrack. Anything which is either adrenalinating or background, zone-out music. I play best when I'm not concentrating, or thinking about something else, so if I'm starting to think to much (and stuff up kills as a result) I sometimes put headphones on with something on, so I can't hear (or think about) anything else.

I have the perfect song for you to play while playing NS. It's great when you are against 3 + skulks and you take them all on xD ::::Juno Reactor Vs Don Davis - Burly Brawl::::

It's the music from the matrix reloaded when Neo fights loads of Agent Smiths.

The only time i've ever played NS with different music was when i was trying a little experiment. I was seeing if it were possible to play NS well with excessively loud, fast and perky Japanese Eurobeat / Parapara playing. This consisted of groups like:

Bazooka Girls

Mad Cow And The Royal Eurobeat Orchestra Of Bazookistan

Garcon

MAX

Digi Charat (Party Night, Hyper Parapara Version)

Aaron Kwok

... and so on ...

But as for other games, i've found Mortiis to be exceptionally good for background ambience. But if i'm on a straight out, kill everything, deathmatch, i like to put on a bit of death metal ...
