Reporting to: Team Leader, Antichrist


Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated Writer who is willing to make a true effort to uphold the ideals that we have set forth at commchair. Due to the fact that Commchair is the only community site that updates daily, multiple times, it is important that you are able to spend time each day finding information to contribute to the site. Fan Art, Interviews and Features are also things you will have to find and submit. This is a great site to work for and I know that you will be very welcomed and appreciated.

Key Responsibilities:

»Work closely with other writers and site staff to support the goals of providing information everyday.

»Create and Post, well writen articles and information

»Implement documentation standards for front page News

»Contribute each week to the site

»Make an effort to find information and interesting things to add

»Daily monitoring of Community sites and forums

»Be an active member in gaming servers to provide first hand understandings of Natural Selection


Required Qualifications:

»A minimum of 1 month playing Natural Selection

»Proper Writting and Grammar skills

»Some basic knowledge of php or html

»A good Attitude

»Be an Active member of the Natural Selection Forums and other Forums

»Be able to post daily if needed

»A willingness to go out and find stories or get that interview with someone, with out being told to.

»Very Newbie Friendly and Helpful

»Has to Enjoy Playing Natural Selection to the point that you're willing to get a tatoo stating as such... J/K

    Unlike other NS community Sites, we update every single day, with somehting interesting Most days. we add around 5 posts of news with 2 da 4 new articles or interesting additions. Each week we have a Special Article called a Weeky feature, this is a special Honor to get, think of it as the Front page of a news paper, the staff all trys to get a story worthy of the front page.

    We are a great site, and we are a Community site! Its important to remember that we are here for the community and right now with 2.0 comming we are going to need another DEDICATED FULL TIMER like Anti or my Self!

    If you can write and love NS and everything about it, contact me or Anti, but we only want a serious person, that is why I posted this "Job Posting"!

    I'm interested.

    My Qualifications:

    1. I can spell 'Qualifications'. (I am also aware of the "Spell Check")
    2. <i>I can press the button "I" before and after a sentence. If needed, I can spend long hours deciphering a way I can use Italics without pressing the button marked "I".</i>
    3. (Wow, these qualifications are getting harder to think up by the number) I believe I've been a part of the Natural Selection community for more than a month, not sure.
    4. I am lazy and unmotivated but I sure do stuff when people depend on me.

    Note: I checked this post for spelling errors and I made one. I wrote 'sentance' in Qualification #2. (Yes, I did check this note, too. And this parentheses add-on also)

    Me too, as long as I'm not the only one doing it =D. I have a strange tendency to not do things as well when I'm in something alone. Maybe write something every few days. I can qualify for most of them, though.

    I just realized that I wrote "belive". It is edited but I live with the shame. Why do we all have to be so spelling-aware?

    By the way, I own a Retail version of Day of Defeat that incorporates a new cd-key (And I don't need you "veterans" of Half-Life interrogating me about why I own the retail version of Day of Defeat, but I'll give you a hint: it has something to do with AVAILABILITY). These DoD Retail cd-keys require the server you're joining to be running the latest Half-Life Dedicated Server patch. Your server isn't, so I can't join. I guess that leaves me out. I believe the ability to join your server is an unspoken requirement.

    We need 2 people. So First Come first served comes to mind in this case, meaning, you both seem like your interested, you both seem like you have a good time in the forums.

    I meet all of your qualifications, however:

    Couple things which may not be too good for me(or just any one person):

    Updating daily with lots of articles. I only spend around 2-5 hours a day broswing websites and stuff. I don't go out with the intent of looking for new stuff on NS. Frankly, I don't think that is possible... Well, I could scrouge up some stuff from these forums to put on your site everyday, now that I think about it. Such as good idea's I see on the S&I forums, or any big developments in 2.0.

    Another thing. I don't play NS 1.04 very often anymore <b>at all</b>, because I just got tired of the game. I know I was/am pretty darn good at the game(been playing since 1.0!), but I don't think I would go around on a server knowing that I wouldn't be having much fun. Right now, I'm currently sucked into getting good at War3: The Frozen Throne.


    I meet all of your requirements except for playing on NS servers often, as I won't untill 2.0 is released.

    So I can work for you, but I will not be able to meet your requirement of playing NS on servers now, and I would pretty damn hard pressed to find fresh material for your site daily, but I think I could do it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    So there you have it. However, if you accept more than one writer, this shouldn't be too much of a problem, right?

    Hi everyone! thanks to majin for this post and the permission to post this. We have had many other admins post one thing and never again <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> what I m suggesting is a 2 week trial to be fair. Also about the site layout and forums. Also I updated the site to php6.8 but wasnt able to update the forums to phpbb2.5 or invision so if anyone knows how to do either please help.

    There is still a spot left due to the fact that Bosnian isn't able to write for us because he has to help write for his Clan site and take care of things there.

    I am sorry about the site, as normal we felt the need to make us better by updating to a new php version, it didn't work out smoothly(big surprize there <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->) and like the last time we did this, the site is having a few hickups that we are taking care of! Sorry to everyone who has stopped by and found the chaos of the forums and anything else that is missing or messed up.

    So who is really interested is writing for Commchair, not just writing, but being apart of the team, and working on the site?
    I have siad it a few times, so I'll say it one more time.
    We are a daily updating community site, so we need DEDICATED members who are willing to make interesting posts each week.
