    Pffft, just because some f00 goes "all brits called it unnamed" you believe him? IT'S NONAME! That guy must be Welsh or something, they're a bit strange over there...

    I'm british, so I should call it unnamed. But noname is both easier and faster to type, which can be a life saver.

    Here is the perfect solution:

    1) name it whatever you want
    2) people can call it whatever they want

    no drama, no drama, no drama

    how about the Hive Formerly Known As NoName

    Same here, noname is common on british servers.

    Why not name it Generator hive.. Since the area near it is Auxillary Generator.aka AuxGen. <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Noname's what we call it down under.

    I say just leave it as it is, and let people call it what they want. It's nice that "noname" is being officially preserved, but if it's not going to be "mother hive" just leave it blank. I think it's a good think that it's not being called mother hive anyway, considering that there's already a place called Mother Interface which the marines occasionally like to set up in.

    hahahahaa... stop it.. *G*, too funny :-)

    Noname is ok.. i mean.. unnamed.. is just.. horrible, and too complicated and too long

    but as a swiss i would like too call it "z'unbenennte hive" or "z'myschteriöse hive" or even " z'komische teil da" *g* you have the choice :-) ;-)

    (i never saw someone call it unnamed)

    Mother > Noname

    That's all there is to it.

    The hive's real name is Mother, simple as that. I assume it worked fine when it was that way, and it would still be that way if not for a simple mistake. The only reason to leave it at Noname now is not to confuse people who never knew what the hive's name was, but let's be honest here... How long would it take people to get used to Mother Hive when the name is right up there in the corner? It didn't take very long for people to establish "noname" as the official name for the nameless hive, do you guys really think it would be hard for people to adjust to differentiating between Mother Hive and Mother Interface? You could use "Mother H" and "Mother Int", or just "Interface" to talk about Mother Interface.

    If an illogical name has to be given to it, I think "Nameless" would look a little better.

    No, because that makes it difficult to find on hivesight. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    I don't see a point in this. If you have to use hivesight to find it.............well, I'll put it this way: You shouldn't have to use hivesight to find it. We all got used to it without an info_location, and so will everyone else who starts playing post-1.04. All the rest of us should have at least the basic layout of the map down by now, and know that when the hive that has no name marker is being hit, where to go (still shows a red dot folks). I strongly stand fast in my belief that it should be left alone. We don't need an info_location to baby us. Now, if there were 2 hives without names, that could be a problem, but I think most people know how to go through a .0000002 second process of elimination to figure out which hive to go to.

    As for the hive's real name being mother, and we can just lengthen the names we've shortened, sure, we can. My point is, why needlessly confuse the issue. I think having 2 places on the map that can logically be shortened to "mother" will confuse more people that leaving it totally unnamed.

    Thats the hives real name.

    It doesn't matter if you like it or not or if another place on the other side of the map is called Mother Interface or not.

    Thats its name.

    The hive's name <b>IS</b> Mother. Period.

    I'm not sure if it was Flayra or the mapper who made the desision to change it, don't know if even really matters.

    However, since it <b>has</b> been changed by the map maker, that is the hives new name.

    Personally, I don't agree with the change. The arguement of "thats what everyone calls it, so it should be called that" is .. well, stupid.

    Everyone used to call the Skulk a Bob. It was so bad that Bob was added to the swear filter.

    Who calls it Bob anymore?

    It's the Mother Hive for a reason. It has plenty of atmosphere and history behind it. NoName was ok for a lark, but when it comes down to it, we fix the bug and it's Mother hive. Forget about the Noname stuff...

    Noname hive is just stupid when you think about it. If you call it Mother or some other name we'll all be laughing in 3 months time about how we used to call it noname hive. If you call it noname then we'll be stuck with that stupid name for eternity.

    Stop living in the past you fools. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The problem is, if it doesn't have a name, you can't tell if it's a hive or an alien player.

    I usually just call it Falayalaralfali. If someone asks what I'm talking about, I simply use my 72 binds to recite every single line of text of the Arilou from Star Control 2.

    Actually, I'm kidding.

    I wish I had all those bound to keys <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
