If you get infected with something just by going to a website and without saying "yes" to install something, then no one would use the internet. Nothing happened, the guys just a poor joker.

But he kept saying that he had received my I.P and that he had sent it somewhere, i was semi worried as he spoke like your average CS hacker. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

going to a website will tell it your IP. Yeah. No hacks involved.
  • eedioteediot Join Date: 2003-02-24 Member: 13903Members
er, actually, providing he runs the website, yes he can tell the ip

he gives it to you, and if tis a fairly unpopular/unvisited site, he only has a few ips to find yours from

trace route it, locate you, then he can port scan you and do his work

i havent visited it but its probably just some "we are deleting your C: now" flash movie

    or somerthing stupid

virus scan your computer, then port scan your computer, and if there are any sus ports open, google them and find out more

if he told you he was going to hack you, etc, then he probably wont [more likely he CANT]

    hm

reading the msn log now, still havent gone to the site

i knew this guy was an idiot the instant i saw this:

    <i><b>·?•? Ben ?•?· says:
i can just whois the domain
    -=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
so...... lol u ave no idea of who is the owner
    ·?•? Ben ?•?· says:
    get them traced down
    -=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
    lol
    -=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
    u wont be able 2
    ·?•? Ben ?•?· says:
    and why not
    -=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
    High anonmity proxy
    -=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
u think the owner is stupid</b></i>

    hahaha

    and

    <i><b>-=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
it's owned by the person who made Blackdoor Sub7</b></i>

oh no, a trojan, hes really going to hack you BAD, man. hey, do you want to accept this sus-looking .vbs or .scr file? hahaha

    HAHAHAH @ THE BINARY BIT

    ROFL

    then talking about trojans... rofl

    <i>-=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
Trojans - LMFAO they would never get caught</i>

    <b><i>-=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
FUNNY HOW they deface webbys n dnt get caught</i></b>

hahahahah, thats because over 50% [i dont have the actual statistics, but im thinking its around 70%] dont even report it, because it would be bad PR [hey, we got hacked, no its fine you can still get our hosting, please? etc]

then the remaining percentage have no idea how to track them down, seeing as theyre using a proxy and deleted the logs

then theres the problem that it actually does nothing. most CRACKERS [not hackers, crackers] dont actually delete the website and put in their own gloating page. they rename the index file so nothing is gone, then put in their own gloating. nothing is damaged, its just saying "i got into your site"

so lets see - nobody wants to report it, there arent any competent security people for websites, there has been no damage, and its cracking, not hacking, so this guys an idiot

    <i><b>-=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
btw only **** ppl ave static ip's it happens to change all the time</b></i>

this made me laugh <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> "only **** people have static ips"

    <i><b> You have failed to receive file "amitis1.2.zip" from -=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ ©.</b></i>

    that made me laugh too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    <i><b>-=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
ur the retard who knows jack all about anything and thinks that hackers r thick enough 2 get caught</b></i>

haha, most HACKERS [not stupid trojan using crackers] arent stupid enough to do anything damaging that would warrant somebody looking for them. theyre mostly white hat or open source programmers.

    <i><b>-=][K.K][=- (_) ÷±‡± P®Õ><ÿ µÅ×Ø® ±‡±÷·™ © says:
n btw I hope ur **** tbh cos ur IP was recorded, n man if ur thick enough to leave it then fine by me. The owner put that page there 4 a reason n he aint

thick as u r. Tbh I quite frankly couldn't care because they will sniff ur ip n open ports. LMFAO u've just got caught in a haxers spider web u n00b. Dont

    trust anyone u thick ****</b></i>

that is the funniest thing ive seen all day. omg. hahaha

its easy to get somebodys ip and sniff their open ports. jesus. "oh no, IP was recorded" its just a stupid log, jeez. "leave it" WTH... this just confirms everything ive said about this idiot above. sigh. "u got caught in a haxres spider web" hbahahahahahahhahahaha - no comment lol

you have nothing to worry from this ****. dont accept any files from him, dont accept any files whatsoever, dont go to any sites he tells you to. every so often sniff ur ports and run a virus checker - but thats standard so yeah, nothing really specific about this ****

if you want, you could give me his msn...? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> id love to tease this Newbie On A Power Trip <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Wasn't there a big scare a while back about viruses that snuck in under the html, or in cookies or something like that? I seem to remember a lot of fuss about it from my shcoolyard chums (the ones who were computer literate anyway), I think my friend who collected viruses got really excited. But that was a while ago. I are confused now.

its not possible without the client side actually doing something

i.e redirects you to a .exe file, you have to select open etc

html cant run scripts like that

If he owns the domain name, and the server exists in the US, then by congress law his address must be publically viewable.
    Owned.
Also, this guy doesnt seem to understand the concept of dynamic ips:

newb"hacker": Hahaha i got your ip!!!
person x: oh no!! my ip!! what will i do!!
    *person x disconnects*
newb"hacker": OMG the ip no work!!! HAX!!

A "real hacker" "hacks" without leaving a single trace of his existance. You wouldn't have known he/she was there, what he/she did or how. This is somewhat scaryier than the usual scriptkiddie O-o
