Street Racing

A little bit smaller...
The sun shines off the black asphault road. The two cars engines roar, ready and straining to go. The flag waves and the two monsters roar down the 100 foot stretch of track. 20...35...40...50mph....they both cross the line miliseconds apart. Im not talking about real street car racing, im talking about remote controlled street racing! I started fooling with this hobby about 2 months ago, and found alot of people who also do it, who are my age! I have a Serpant 705, which is super modded with a new engine, fuel type, and new axel's and wheels. These babies run off of nitro fuel to reach speeds over 65mph!!!
I also have a modified stock car, its about 5 years old, and I dont know what its called. Over a month I suped this baby up into a track winnar! We race on a 100ft streach of asphault down in a dirt pit owned by my grandpop. We also have a stock car track, about 300ft long, one big circle of course. Its alot cheaper than buying a real car, then modding that. I got my Serpant for $120 US, and modded it with parts that the total cost came to $110 US. So this is a $320 dollar car. Its really nasty to see one crash, we have even had a few explode half-way down the track Its really fun, and I really recomend this as a cool inexpensive hobby.

Actually when the engine dies, I am going to put a massive engine into it. (well more massive than the 4.7 litre thats in it now)
It is actually going to be part of my embedded systems project. My goal is to make my car completely automated and able to be remote controlled.

Nice car! I actually want either a 1974 or late 80's carprice (while they were still boxy)
Then i'd throw a... oh i dunno.. 454ci engine im em.
Got nothing to do until end of august. 2.0 not coming out until end of july. Don't dare to be too obnoxious in #naturalselection. Don't wanna play 1.04 ALL the time. Planetside doesn't work. Guess what's left?
But you GOTTA admit it sounds slightly geeky. I takes one to know one.
My friend used to have a gas powered RC car and lived on a looooong strip of backroad where we would get the thing flying up near 35-40 mph on the straightaway. The last thing we did with it before it broke was setting up one of our kicker jumps and the end of the street and having the car fly off it at 40 mph. Needless to say it smashed, but man did it get some air.

They take the most crappiest car they can find, dont give a crap about looks, custom paint jobs or decals and just put in a monster beast engine. lol
