Now back to squishing the <span style='color:green'>Horde</span> (though I really love the <span style='color:green'>Horde</span> more than the boring <span style='color:blue'>Alliance</span>).

Happy Birthday, Americans. 226 years of democracy. Here's to 226 more.

(Don't forget to find some Brits and yell 'No taxation without representation!', then grab their teacups and whip them into the harbor)

It's the reason we revolted, ya big goon. You taxed us, but would not less us participate in parliament. So we threw all your highly taxed tea into Boston Harbor. Then we kicked Cornwall's ### and became 'the one that got away'.

So much for the superior British educational system...

Well, they broke the Guiness Book of World Record's for the biggest cup of tea I guess, thats one good thing to come from it. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

And I wish you would stop calling me a 'goon'. It tickles.

Biggest cup of tea you'd never want to drink. Boston Harbor is a cesspool, and was even back then.

As much as I hate to say it.  We actually owe some thanks to the Frenchmen for our victory.  'Course all they were doing was trying to give the Brits a low cost slap, but, you know.
  • ChromeAngelChromeAngel Join Date: 2002-01-24 Member: 14Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
Being on the loosing side, of course the british are going to gloss over that 'unfortuante incident'.

Why do I imagine LiquidScript being lightly toasted by forest fire at the end of his post?

I heard a bit of the speech your president made about persuing the terrorists wherever they may be... execpt a whole bunch escaped into Pakistan...

Oh well... have a nice holiday.

Anyway, to be correct, the main reason for the American struggle for independence were the 10000 British soldiers that were stationed in the colonies to protect British interests.

    Ironic, no?

(/monsE: whoops, inadvertantly edited this post, and lost a smidge of content. just to point out, the main reasons were economic, as in all wars, and the 'quartering of soldiers' aspect was more propoganda than anything else. There is still plenty of irony to be had though)

It's funny how you celebrate your independance, yet actually rely on the rest of the world to keep the American machine running.

You are free, to do as we tell you.

Free, to do as we tell you.

Free! To do as we tell you!

Hey Merks, and other Europeans. Can you, for just one day, stop saying how bad we are and rejoice in having us as your partner and ally? Is that too much to ask? Just one lousy day, then you can go back to being snide and cliche-driven and disdainful in stereotypical fashion. We're real sorry all your empires are gone and you no longer oppress the Asians, Africans, and Sub-Continental colonies in order to fuel your Monarchies, but really, not our fault. If you hadn't started two world wars, we'd probably still be quietly isolated in our safe little neck of the woods. So Stop being so bitter for. just. one. stinking. day.

I still can't believe that Jesse Ventura is our governer here. The most ridiculous thing anyone could imagine. He's a frickin moron and it's down right embarassing. And in another brain-dead attempt at getting his own willies off, he legalized fireworks here in Minnesota... at the same time that other states are banning them. Now we've got a butt-ugly fireworks stand right down the road, and of course... a lot of noise.

    /me grumbles
