Tell Me There's Hope Here.

My computer locked up during the compile of my map and so I turned it off (by holding the power button 5 secs) now when I go to open my map it says the following:

"Oops! SerializeRMF() v2.2 tried to load a file v0.0. Aborting." and,
"There was a file error."

Tell me there's something I can do. Thank You.

Look for a file with the same name as your map with an RMX extension or a MAP extenstion.

RMX is a backup of your map made by Hammer, rename it to a RMF extension and your up an running again.

MAP is the file exported by Hammer for use in compile tools, it doesn't have any group or visgroup information, but most of your map is saved in there.

Thanks very much ChromeAngel, I couldn't retrieve my whole map back but I got about 45% back and that's better than nothing. Thanks again.
