Do you find them useful?
I've been thinking about some things, and I wanted to ask you guys a question. Do you find Waypoints as they stand useful? Right now, I've found it's hard to find a waypoint I've been assigned, especially if I'm facing away from it when it's placed. Am I the only one?

A couple ideas I thought might help would be to have an indicator on the screen pointing to the nearest waypoint, and possibly multi-waypoints, but I don't know how well the second idea would work. What do you guys think, would it be nice to have multi-waypoints?

multi waypoints would be good imo

but they should be made in such a way that they only obscure a very tiny part of your screen, otherwise they would only be annoying

I think waypoints in general are only usefull if you've (or your team has) never played the map before, or doesn't know it yet

I mean, once you know the maps, waypoints are kinda useless...

but yeah, multi waypoints would be neat

multi-waypoints would be nice especially for the commander... and i would love an indicator arrow... when i hear the go to waypoint sound i sometimes have to look 360 degrees to find it...

Here's a good use for waypoints. I was in an NS eclipse game, there were skulks in the vents around us. And the comm kept placing a wp right where the skulk was. This made it very easy to locate a skulk especially since we didn't have motion tracking at the time.

Yea they arnt very helpful when they dont disapear all the time when you go through them, Then the aliens attack you and you are obstructed from seeing them by a huge blue circle that wont go away until you die or the comm sets a new way point. Same goes with the "defend target" one too.

Though it might be considered an exploit , it is very effective when tracking the gorge by hearing it (comm has a rough idea of where it is and can lead nearby marines to it)
Attaching an Attack Target WP to the alien is generally better though.

Since I don't use voicecomm (heh , others spam it enough already) I tend to give waypoints all the time. They're not 100% accurate and sometimes disorienting , but usefull to show camping locations or buildings to defend.
If you just gave the last HA to a freshly respawned player far away from the HA train , you can lead him to his colleagues without efforts using the Guard Target WP. Shouting "PHASE GATE OMG PHASE NOW !!!11" isn't terribly productive when you can +select all soldiers and give them a Guard Target WP on the threatened phase gate. This is especially true when you have multiple phase gates.
Waypoints might not be that intuitive , but they're still better than esoteric messages like "JP HMG go to RR" and the like. Players can hardly miss waypoints... if you want them to take a specific path drop WPs one after another.

Well it is very easy to ignore someone typing/ on the VC, but the big blue flashing icon should at least annoy them if nothing else
