Halo Gun Sound Pack

Since I just got my Xbox (wee birthday present) and Halo, I will try to record the gun sounds from all the weapons. Problem is, what program can I use to record, and then edit the file, then compile it into a .mp3 file? I do have a mic, but I dont think the cord is long enough for it to reach my tv...grrr...need a labtop...

Hmm well u could just listhen to em constually and then just try make ur own version but make it sound simiiler to the sounds from halo or same <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

goldwave is your friend. Can you not find the halo sounds in any videos? maybe you can extract them from an avi somewhere.
