its not cheating i dont think - just edting textures

i decided to make this a few months back... 2min paint job

    The whole point of land mines, however, is their inability to be seen clearly to the naked eye.

    The reason they're not bright red is because they want those pesky aliens to trip them without seeing them. What you're doing would probably be considered cheating by a vast number of people, myself included.

    something a little less along the lines of cheating would be to put thin red lines on the feet of the mines... i mean, maybe two 1 pixel long lines through the feet would make it easier to be seen, but not far enough to be considered a super exploit...

    The thing is, any change whatsoever that would make it easier to be seen would be considered a cheat by many, since it would give you an unfair advantage.

    Besides all that, i've never had a problem seeing mines before, it's not like they're totally invisible or anything. I guess it helps to know the common places mines get put on each map however.

    Anothier thing about this is that there's clearly zero effort been put in - if it was a genuine reskin to make it look attractive it wouldn't be as bad, but when you just colour something in flat colour to make it more visible it's very definitely very cheaty.

    I totally agree with Supernorn, if you don't use it in LAN where everyone knows you have it is is cheating. I myself like big guns blocking MY view or I like getting myself blown up becasue of that little mine I didn't see so cheating models like this hunt down and kill the fun in NS for me.

    lol this is so cheap.. thats the same as using spiked models,or neoncolored playermodels..

    but its a perfect cammo for the red lighted corridors..lol

    Add a couple of black lines on the red part and they would be great for ns_nancy near the unnamed hive in the red parts at the side.

    Except the lighting in the red corridors sheena mentioned would make them evem brighter and more visible than before

    red texture, red lighting = white.

    just make it a darker red. Instead of just filling it in add more detail like grey scratches where the paint is worn off and some ?black? stripes?

    You really shouldnt admit to using such crappy models. If your gonna cheat at least brighten the skulk textures or invert them or something, dont use red, red baaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
