You could replace the MT sprite with a blank or tiny sprite. Use sprview.exe to find them. MT is one of the blip#.spr files, and just browse through your ns\sprites folder for something small or blank to replace it with.

Actually this might not be a bad suggestion for the S&I forum.

Although I like MT I could see how it could be annoying.

I don't believe it is the 56k connection that is your problem, I have a friend with DSL that always pings better then me and he has the exact same problem. This may be a recorded bug, but I am not sure, so all I can suggest is that you change the sprite.

Yeh, swap the mt sprite with a crosshair sprite, that should mean that whenever u would see an mt blip u will actually see nothing as a crosshair will just be placed on top of your current one, as good as invisible.

Change it to something thin. Draw a circle in photoshop or something.

Y dont you draw a little comedy skulk sprite, like a circus skulk type thing. That way you can have fun and (sort of) solve your problem

Yes, I have real trouble with MT obscuring my view... it's just so confusing, especially when you have a large number of aliens on the screen at once. In any case, you can normally tell exactly where the aliens are by sound alone - so few people use silence in 1.04. I really, really hope they sort this out for 2.0, I haven't heard anything about it mentioned yet.
