<div class="IPBDescription">I'm not telling right here!</div>Last night I had a dream that NS was released. Me and a bunch of friends decided (in real life) we would have an emergency LAN on the day of Natural Selection's release.
Being as I have been the most enthusiastic about NS in my group of lan friends, I took it apon myself to be the commander. We started playing but then It became difficult for me and for the other players. Basically, there is no halflife mod that I have seen to compare to NS. The learning curve was kinda steep for some of them. The learning curve of being a commander was TREMENDOUS and i didn't know what I was supposed to do (I tried to turtle up the marine spawn with turrets from the get-go). So on to my questions...
a) How steep is the learning curve?
b) what are the chances that someone (Monse <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> ?) would post a "<b>commander's bible</b>" for all us non-playtesters.

As far as B goes, I'm quite sure that once we are allowed to talk about it, the testers will be happy to write up some strats in the forums to help guys get up to speed quicker. I probably will at least...

It could take you through all the steps of building and upgrading a base, for instance, maybe even throw in some waypointed marine bots to practice giving orders, and some bob bots to test turrets.

Well, I'm working on a manual.

And gah ur right, u do need help with the grammar and word usage, but plz don't use a program, most do bad jobs, much worse than what u've managed to do. Just send it to one of use forum goers. See if HighLander wants to have a look, he's helping edit rob's story.

i had a NS dream last night too....proly from to much late night time on the forums at any rate it was a very odd dream, I was in an old AVP2 level called colony, there were bobs and aliens from the movies running about, and flying things that look like mosquitoes for some reason my LMG was an mp5, I died horrible and respawned as a mech from that show Mech Commander, I had rockets and stuff.....it was very odd at that point right before I got to stick it to the aliens with my mech I changed tracks into a game involving a mixture of Shogun: Total war and zombies........What does it all mean?!
Anyway i know doubt there is a manual coming out but can it not been on the same download as the actual game when we download it.
I say this cause if there two seperate things i can download the manual and game at the same time. then when the manual is finished downloading i will read that while NS takes another 3hours or so to finish downloading. Leaving me time to read through. If it's apart of the NS download many people won't bother reading it and jump straight into the game not knowing ####... it works out better if u release it before hand.
Anyways back onto topic, umm........what was the topic again?
