Should i buy the expantion?
Well, to start off im very good at Warcraft III. I beat the 153'd ranked person 1v1 a while back. I havnt played in in a while though for the simple fact that most of my friends all hate it because they are hardcore starcraft. The problem with that is im only a mediocre starcraft player. What should i do?
A. BUY FROZEN THRONE!!!11one
B. Dont get frozen throne and get better at starcraft.
C. Find new friends (cough cough forum members) that play Warcraft III and will play Frozen Throne.

from what I have seen of frozen throne (I had friends in the beta) it looks great, as well as adding some new toys for mapping and what not.
personaly I don't play RTS (I lovwe watching good games though) and honestly I think WC3 is better then SC.
Our lab has em both installed and both are played though most prefer WC3, and I prefer watching WC3 games, they are just that much more interesting
Starcraft rocks all over the place. I could never get into WC3, honestly... it just seemed really lacking. Multiplayer was all about mass-and-rush, and if you lose the rush you lose the game. At least with SC you have a chance of making a comeback, if you can wipe out the rushers.. even if you lose all your units as well. There are ways to get around massing a single unit, and about the only real annoying part are the mapbuggers, and those who are playing but don't speak English worth a d*mn.
if they are still playing SC they don't know what they are missing.
i'd go with o_O <---- this smilie
o_O: buy both - if you can afford it...
Building over 50 Forest Protectors is very cool when he comes around the corner with his lvl 6 hero...
*I have played WC3 about 6 or 7 times, and only at a LAN. The only cool thing about it is that I can build trees... lot's and lot's and lot's of trees Everybody at the LAN hated me for it, hell they even kicked me off the server for it.
Point is Starcraft is cool, and so are trees!
Download "Morhuhnen" (demo or something) and dump Starcraft and WC3 alltogether
I was going to include a short review with mentions of new units and stuff, but since the copy I played wasn't even mine, and I'm not sure about the NDA status, I decided to cut this until I find out.
The only times I played I basically built every new unit possible, so things got a bit confusing, especially with the unfamiliar skills binds and stuff, but it seemed like fun. The actual gameplay seemed about the same, but with many more possibilities. It was clear that including some supporting units to your army would be a great benefit, so giant masses of units may no longer be so preferable. If you like micro-managing and want a whole bunch of new units to play around with, adding a whole array of new possibilities for each team, go for it. If you enjoy WC3 as it is and don't mind playing the same few strats each game, it's your choice. I would buy it myself, if I had any way to buy more than few games each year.
so A....I also like to vote for C
*cough*

ahhh!!! your just like my friend at lans, he would build those stupid trees, like a 100 or something and then have them throw rocks at us it was horrible, he did lose though
Now that it has clan support, any forumers up for a War3 Clan?
Soon as I get my computer upgraded (about 3 weeks more..gotta wait for my credit card, then the parts, then "my man" (cousin who builds 'puters).
I'll play ya plenty in WC3:FT. StarCraft is fun but...it comes down to the same things every game. No variances.
WC3, I've seen 36 ghouls wipe out a heavily fortified Elven base with support from Meat Wagons.
