Skulk Climbing Ladders

<div class="IPBDescription">Re to post in beta forum</div> this happens in 1.04 too and its not a map problem, it seems to be a server/network issue, because when you have a high ping like me, my computer renders me going up about half-way up the ladder then back to the ground after receiving the next packet, I can climb up the ladder about a distance proportional to my ping latency

It might be a combination of the two (map problem and network problem).

To strengthen the map problem side, in maintenance hive on eclipse in v1.04, I cannot climb ladders as a skulk no matter what and nor can any of my playtesters.

I seem to recall in the dim and distant past that someone said that was fixed for eclipse in 1.1, but I'm not 100% sure.

thats a different issue, since skulks don't use func_ladder to climb, they can walk straight through it, but normaly ladders have a func_wall to show the ladder texture, KFS must have used func_illusionary or something.

About the only times I have a hard time climbinb up the ladder as a skull is in the NS_nothing at the Viaduc hive.

Don't recall having this problem elsewhere.

Lerks cant climb ladders either! but of all things the oni should not be able to climb them, not lerks! (visioning a cow climbing a ladder.)

Lerks don't NEED to climb ladders. Onos and gorges do, as they have no other way to get up if they can't jump.

    Is this fixed in 2.0?

I do wish there were some other way to work Onos than climbing ladders (which is beyond impluasible!) but at the moment nothing comes to mind as an alternative (certainly not... shudder... elevators). Maybe they are magical futuristic ladders?

I can never climb ladders with skulks or gorges while looking up, i have to climb the ladders backwards - never found it a problem.

Works for me! Maybe that's why marines can stand on them, spin around while using two hands to shoot a gun with perfect accuracy, and not fall off?
