Artists Needed!
I know this isnt strictly on-topic, but this seems a better forum to post this in than "Off-Topic":
I am making a platform game in C++ with a friend. The game engine is almost done. If you want to have a look the current demo is at:
http://www.mercior.com/files/pftechdemo.zip (300k)
We will soon be at the stage of actually designing the game and levels and need artists to produce tilesets for level creation as well as player/monster animations and general graphics.
We dont have too many solid ideas for the game concept right now, so anyone joining the team will have input into the actual design, they won't just be a graphics monkey.
If you are interested or have any questions email either Lead at lawrence.steele@ntlworld.com or Mercior at mercior@hotmail.com. Please send a recent sample or url of your work.

Controls for the demo are:
Arrow keys or WASD to move
Point and click with the mouse to shoot
R reloads
P pauses
ESC goes to the menu screen
Return selects a menu item

More like Soldat
But who said side scrollers belonged to anyone?
However, you could try the pixelation boards. Seeing as how you've got work already done on your engine, you probably won't get too much flames for trying to recruit help from there (probably). Just make sure you give as much information about the project as you can. They can get a bit unpleasant if you just ask for help without giving any information.
hitting the key 1 on your keyboard takes you to the pistol and its firing rate is damn slow
hitting the key 2 is lmg you guys know what that does
hitting the key 3 is the flamer or flamethrower
P.S. if you don't believe me try it out yourself then flame me.
Yeah sorry I forgot to mention the other weapons.. The pistol isnt really very exciting and the flamer is more of a "particle system test gun" at the moment. Thanks for that other pixel forum link, I'll make a post there too
As for NS.. we have thought about making some NS-Themed levels with skulks, fades shooting acid rockets, flying lerks etc, and as me and my friend are both NS fans, also quite likely to be made! The engine uses a entity system quite similar to half-life's so all kinds of cool effects can be made using trigger setups.
Will the engine be ported to other platforms?
Drop by #pfgame on irc.quakenet.org if you're interested in joining the team. Yes, we will be releasing the source code when the game is finished - I doubt it will get ported to other platforms because it uses direct X to render, which is a very *windows* technology. That said, I'm sure it could be ported to OpenGL if somebody wanted to.
