Comments
[Gabe Newell] Interpenetration is a bad thing.

That doesn't really answer the damn question....
bah. Clipping = Aesthetical ugliness

The Monse News Network, MNN.
"guy behind the game that will comsume the lives of some many."
What?
"concept of TF2 to accomadate the large community"
His “o” key is working.
"so popular many third-part applications"
As with his “y” key
"support for 3 axes, to enable for aircraft?"
Somebody set up us the bomb!
"playing mp3's within the game"
APOSTROPHIE!!!
"european mod-expo's to accomadate those"
AGAIN!!!
Understandable if the guy's first language wasn't English but he could've at least got someone to proof-read it for him.

NO!
[Gabe Newell] Interpenetration is a bad thing.

Which you should know means "nope, didn't fix it" :P

QUOTE

[HL2Central] One of the more popular of "half-life" multiplayer features was the ability to spray a decal on the wall, a feature so popular many third-part applications were formed to produce multi-coloured logos, such as wally and hlc. Will these sprays return, and have you implemented more support for multi-colour?
[Gabe Newell] Yes. You can create your own material, which will be much more flexible.
...
[HL2Central] Will half-life2 comes with a light-version of softimage|xsi?
[Gabe Newell] Yes.

So now you modellers can get cracking already now that you know the modelling package format. :P
Errr, read it again, because those are correct.

Quotes:
Game Modelling:

-GPU surface FX & Normal mapping for real time environments are now supported in XSI v.3.5. Bake high-resolution detail into a low-resolution model using DirectX and Cg.?
-DirectX shaders OGL and Cg shaders can be all be viewed directly in viewports.
-NVIDIA shadow mapping allows the casting and receiving of shadows in real time.?
-Vertex shader to pixel shader propagation.
It also has an integrated version of Mental Ray. Of course the version that will come with HL2 will likely be stripped down to include only stuff you will need for a game model. Also check out some of their videos. Very nice stuff for modelling, symmetrical models, reference models, looks very easy to use as well. Spiffy GUI as well
Looks alot like 3DSM, so hopefully it will be easy to get into.
I have my doubts as to how genuine this article is. First of all its crap grammar seems to make it out as a second rate interview, and I doubt "Gabe Newell Himself" (God complex?) would participate in an interview like this, with a website, when he won't do interviews with huge magazines and larger news websites. Also the replys seem rather pointless ... "[Gabe Newell] Yep. Kelly's doing all of the sound effects and music again. He's a stud." ...riiiiight
plz note that the guy is foreign. English most likely isn't his native language. Lighten up guys
Might help if you actually read my post no?
