Dev Mode?

<div class="IPBDescription">what is it and what exactly does it do</div> Well I been running servers for many mods for over a year now and I hear many players asking me if I use dev mode or I overhear a discussion about it. I know it has something to do with putting -dev in the server commandline but what is it and what does it do?

    it echos lots of information to your screen, including graphics and sound information. It's not useful for normal client play, though apparently mappers use it to test for bugs.

    When you put -dev in the command line or type developer 1, it's for mappers and mod developers.

    When you type developer 2 at the console, it's rather for the HL engine developpers <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It provides a lot of information.
