who needs it?
Many many times before I've seen skulks on my team holding back a perfect attack or backing me up because of their 'score'. Constantly I find aliens so concious of their score that they will be very cautious and not work with the team. At times yes being cautious could be very useful but when your assaulting the marine base it isn't helpful to run all the way back to the hive. Usually when I attack the rine base I don't stop untill im dead unless there is an army of dcs right outside the door. In the long run, most people have a negative score by the end of the game anyways. In my oppinion, you could simply unbind that tab button unless you want to know who the gorge is. But if you been playing for longer then 10 minutes and don't know where and who your gorge is you're completley lost.
That reminds me of that child commercial... It's 11:00 PM. Do YOU know where your gorge is?

NS is a TEAM game and I am always more than happy to lob my skulkish self into some mines so the other 7 guys can rush through the doors and annihilate the opponents *evil laughter*

Killing a RT +22
Killing Vanilla Marine +1
Killing a HA/GL marine +58
Dying as a skulk -1
Dying as a fade -54
At least then fragwhores would have a more proper incentive for team-oriented actions, instead of as now, just frags. Also, it would give "credit" to more important, but not as spectacular, actions such as chomping RT's and other structures.
Same thing with the gorge or something :/
In UT its like that, you don't worry how many time you sacrafice your life, as long as you kill some one.
I think NS 1.0 wanted that but they forgot to take off deaths :/
I'm not saying that a player's kill count is the ultimate indicator of performance. Nonetheless, its importance as an indicator cannot be overlooked. I think it should be left in AND paired with some of the other suggestions in this thread. Removing kill counts entirely because of some contrived correlation to teamplay is ridiculous and overly reactionary. Perhaps if it was no longer the only listed indicator of performance, people would not worry about it as much.
