Ra2 Vs Starcraft

and i thoguht i would share a story with you.... Are you sitting comfortably?...................... then ill begin...
i was in Game today and my god they have alot of p.c games... i havent been up to game or anywhere games related other then WHSmiths in the last 8 months... so this was a nice change...
and i had £10 left form £200.... (dont ask)
and i thought muh video game time... i found 3 titles which i had heard of played and were supposed to be godly....
1 Starcraft
2 Swat 2
3 Red Alert 2
game 2 is the only one i had played... i rejected that though as as much as it WAS fun now it would just be bad...
i have never heard of starcraft before i came to these boards... so i was thinking about it alot... but then i deciuded agaisnt it and chose red alert 2.
why because i have a specific image of what i want a game like that too look like... and i want a game which has tanks/infantry/fighter jets on semi-realistic combat enviroments...
and for me red alert 2 fills this better than starcraft...
so now i have more moeny again. (i came home and realised i had around £60 left for saome bizarre reason.. )
is it worth going back to get starcraft?

Both are great games, and I reccomend them both. I know no one else likes it, but I also like C&C Generals a lot. Learning how to play the game is very easy, it has superb graphics, and some of the fastest-paced, most insane single-player levels I've ever played.

Star Craft has the pretty much best SP storyline, the most balanced and fun gameplay, and some of the coolest art ever seen. Personally, I prefer the Hydralisk to Geigers Xenomorph.

I was so addicted to playing that game on B.Net with my friends for almost a full year. It's just awesome.

And yeah, that's another idea. If you're to buy Starcraft, do buy the whole edition. The Starcraft and expansionpack Brood War. are there ANY! RTS out there which dont have 'chrono jumpers' 'psychich morons' and other random stuff
i thought RA2 was as good as it gets but when you keep getting screwed by and 'iron curtain' it gets a bit MUH!
i am after a game where i can literally click...
infantry *clicckeh* and a lil man pops out.
artillery *lickehd!* and a lil guy with a mortar or rocket launcher comes out
large tank *clickeh* some modern tank comes out

No, it's not a modern warfare game, but it's close. No prisma towers, no tesla coils, you can compensate and pretend that the Tiger tanks are Abrams... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Oh, and if we're branching out and mentioning other styles of game with modern warfare, Ghost Recon is the absolute <i>win</i>. Though admittedly I haven't played OFP (I think I'd better put in on my list of things to get).

right put a squad down here with 3 m16's a SAW and a radioman (made up group)
and a sniper team here with an observer using an mp5...
and a humvee patrolling down this street here...
i have played generals and i was not best impressed to be honest....

I've been drooling over something like that for ages. A close bet would be Commandos. I also believe there was a game produced by the America's Army team that was a squad command game.
