Just bored.
The commanders were all grouped sitting at a long table. If it wern't for the uniforms, it could of been confused for a buisiness meeting. Although these men were businessmen. They were in the business of death.
One man, tall, silver haired, was standing at the front of the table. From the amount of medals and the way the man carried himself, you could tell he was a high ranking officer and a veteran at that. This man was the Chief of Staff of the UED, James Taggart.
"Gentlemen, I belive you all know why we are here. We have lost over four ships in the Ariadne Arm and all have shown signs of these creatures. These ships were not part of the official UED but they were attacked and disabled in UED space. What we have to do know is determine what should be done about it."
A short balding man to Taggart's left spoke up.
"Sir, I personally belive that these shipd should be destroyed immiediatly from a distance. Human life has ceased on all of these ships, there is no point in risking more life. We also dont know how these creatures even got aboard, we cant risk more infection"
A thin man in civillian clothing spoke.
"General, that is precicsely why we cannot do that. This is a genuinely unknown species, we cannot exterminate them on a whim."
Another officer perked up.
"We cannot forget the monetary worth of these ships. When human life ceased on those vessels they became salvage and we all know that the UED isnt exactly brimming with resources."
"You would think of that first wouldnt you, you money grabbing ****. Those were humans on board, we have to destroy those ships!"
A general din erupted then, men shouting at eachother, trying to make thier opinions heard. Suddenly, Taggart broke it up.
"<b>GENTELMEN, ORDER! THERE WILL BE ORDER IN THIS ROOM!</b>"
The assembly quieted immiediatly quieted down.
"Gentelmen, I have reached a decision. Taking in that these ships must be cleansed of the creatures and that the monetary value of them is indespensible, I have decided that we will send in ground troops. You are all aware of the newly formed TSA. I know they have yet to prove themselves but I have great confidence in thier commanders. So, in the fastest possible time, the TSA will be given marching orders to these ships."
It's ruffage I know, but i burnt enough time that The Simpsons is on know. Joy.
