Do they have them in NY?
Hey me and a bud got to talkin today and were wondering if they had New York Fries in the states. I've been many times but never saw one so I thought I'd ask the Americans on the forum. Mmmm, NYF Poutine!

I got other questions, but I'll make a more official post about it later.

Otto pretty much answered your question.

There's 3 types of fries Americans know. Home fries, fast food fries, and those crazy giant fries from KFC.

Explaining what a "New York fry" is would help quite a bit. But I'd guess no. Much like I've never seen a "San Francisco Coffee Company" in San Francisco (saw two of these places in Germany and I was like "WTH?"). I've also encountered a "Frisco Burger" while in Missouri that in no way resembled anything I've ever had in my homeland.

Frankly, I was surprised to find French fries in France...

    Wow love your reasoning Xanieth.

"A New York fry is a New York fry."

    You really enlightened me there.

    wait...

so if they take gravy i'm guessing they're more like british chips than fries... correct? thicker and stuff? or are they just regular american fries?

    Right.

No, we do not have New York Fries here in New York, I've lived here all my life. If you mean poutine, a Canadian person explained that to me over IRC and, though it sounds good, I've never had it here in the states. I have had fries with gravy however, and I like 'em quite a bit like that.

You guys don't know good fries until you've made your own.

And McDonalds is evil...their food literally made me want to kill myself when I got sick from their food. I'm happy I got sick too, I'm glad I've got to the realisation that their food is sick.

    :D

I'm afraid this begs the question "do they have French Fries in France?"

    Discuss.
